Some important lessons from Ted Kennedy

From all account, Kennedy was well liked by his peers in the Senate–he related well to his equals. But I have not heard much from common people who had to deal with him. Did he treat the little people with respect? He claimed that he was on their side, but how did he actually treat them?

Also, did he actually believe his own positions, or did he take those positions because they were the positions that gave prestige among the opinion elite of this country? I wonder about that because from some accounts he seems to have been a conflicted soul.

May he rest in peace.
