It’s discouraging to note that Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s name is still offered as a somewhat embarrassed disclaimer re the right’s sins of the past.
McCarthy’s claim was that there were Communists, beholden to the Kremlin, employed in the State Department. He has since been proven resoundingly correct in his accusations. Coincident with this, the House Un-American Activities Committee had the temerity to suggest that there were Communists employed by the Hollywood Dream Machine (and let us not forget that McCarthy was a Senator, not a Congressman,) and the cries of victimhood are still heard over 50 years later.
The apologies for “McCarthyism” need to die a belated and much-deserved death, and the “victimhood” of Hollywood and the Upper West Side needs to be held up to public ridicule once and for all. The tactics of the Race Industry are indistinguishable from this fraud that has been allowed to flourish for a half-century.
