Thank you for writing and remembering. I read Mr. Bloom’s book on its publication and for me its ideas hit home and served as the catalyst of a long journey from fuzzy-headed, “everything is permitted” pseudo-intellectual to fuzzy-headed, sober neocon. I wonder how many others trod that same path after reading The Closing of the American Mind?
