Thoughts on July 4, America, and multiculturalism

Much of the multicultural celebration and advocacy overlooks a fundamental character of most non-Western European cultures – the concept of liberty is absent, and rule of law tends to be weak. Moreover, immigrant communities tend to stress ethnic solidarity which fits well with ethnic power brokering. In Canada, for example, Sikhs are a voting bloc often signed, sealed and delivered to the Liberal Party. Sri Lankans are regularly intimidated by Tamil Tiger reps. Ethnic Chinese navigate in and around the laws with multiple passports. Cultures – not race – are more than colorful clothes and exotic cuisine. They are often directly at odds with American values of liberty and equality. Their corrosive effects will be evident as their numbers increase, and assimilation declines. Maybe American Sharia is the wave of the future.
