For the record, I want to clearly state my opinion on the Supreme Court’s ruling. I do not doubt that some of the people being held at Guantanamo are innocent. If the High Court wants to step in and force the Bush administration to speed up the military tribunals, I have no problem with that. I’m not entirely comfortable with many of these people not even having charges brought against them after six years. What I have a problem with is extending the rights of U.S. citizens to non-citizens who were picked up in the field of battle. I simply cannot connect those dots.
