@speedwell Snark? On the one hand, I see men and women who have pledged their lives to defend the nation and its constitution. On the other hand, I see a commenter who thinks snark is a reasonable substitute for knowledge of the subject at hand.

Military people respect those who have earned it, or at least those who respect them back, regardless of whether they are civilians or not. Obama and his advisers repeatedly display the same obvious ambivalence towards the military that many of my own wonkish colleagues show. I see it almost every day.
