Guys, guys:

–there won’t be a million people in the mall because working Americans don’t get on busses to wave signs and demonstrate-they have jobs to do, kids to support and mortagages (their own and now that of others) to pay. Non-working Americans are looking for a job.

–this talk of impeachment is just silly: Obama got elected for lots of reasons and many of those are very painfully laid at the door of the GOP that had its snout deep in the public trough for 12 years. Obama still has close to 60% approval ratings and stupid as many of his domestic policies are, they are to be expected from a liberal democrat with no private sector experience. He’s George McGovern in 2009. He thinks the government makes wealth. But its hard to lambaste Obama with any credibility after Bush maxed out our credit card while he was Prez and appointed the heads of the FDIC and SEC who were asleep for 8 years.

–Don’t be too outraged: The GOP let this happen; everyone knows it. Obama will indeed make it worse, but he’s only been in office for about 40 days. That 60% that supports him is going to need more time to shift back; at least till Chris Matthews’ leg stops tingling;

–be glad Obama is not as liberal as Pelosi;

–Be glad that former GOP speaker Dennis Hastert who presided over the House as all fell apart, has a federal pension and entitled to lifetime health benefits: screwing up the world’s richest country was quite a chore.

–In the meantime, welcome people who shift back–even Maureen Dowd seems disillusioned, and that’s a good thing. Obama was having too many flower petals thrown at his feet for an elected official in the US.

HOPE that Obama realizes he needs to change. He’s not stupid and he might–I hope–surprise us still.
