My favorite aspect is that Obama is not signing this bill until Tuesday. Instead of signing this ‘emergency’ bill into law Friday evening -after sending a plane, at taxpayer’s expense, to fetch a Democrat Senator from his mother’s wake in Ohio so that Senator could cast the passing vote, President Obama left town. He took his wife to Chicago for the weekend. What? That little getaway (in week 3) cost the taxpayers how much in sending up two Air Force One’s (a Decoy and the real thing) plus all the post-9/11 security needed for the Obama’s to go out to a romantic dinner for 2 in downtown Chicago? Thanks to the Democrats may not live in a post 9/11 world but the Obama’s certainly do. And correct me if I’m wrong but I thought candidate Obama was extremely concerned about everyone else’s carbon footprint?

Anyway, given how Obama was not going to interrupt his plans to sign this bill, the vote did not have to be rushed through. Not only could Obama have given everyone the weekend to read the bill, the Senator from Ohio could have remained at his mother’s wake and gotten a good night sleep before her funeral the next morning. Harry Reid did see that the private plane did return him in time. How very thoughtful.
