The attributes to gain high public office compare to a star actor backed with great talent (scriptwriters, director, film crew) making it believable. When gritty reality reasserts itself, the candidate role is lame and innate competence must exist. Surrounding yourself with brilliant advisers can ameliorate lack of experience to a degree, allowing leadership growth into the position. Packing the staff positions with functionally unqualified but party loyal is setting up for failure. Hard choices are not like “teeing off for 18″.
