Sen. Kennedy co-wrote the No Child Left Behind bill. The prescription drug benefit plan ended up costing as much as Gore wanted and was applied to all old folks and not just the poor and truly needy as Bush promised.

Yes, Bush and many Republicans were unable to control their liberal urges, i.e. spending, McCain-Feingold, illegal immigration. But there was a solid core, let’s call them the Jeff Session Republicans, that tried to hold the line.

As I see it, the main problem liberals have with Bush is that he won the war in Iraq, and that is something they will never forgive.
