1. CRA
2. Revocation of the Glass-Steagal Act (removed the “wall” between traditional banking/lending and investment banking/securitization)
3. Original Founding of Fannie Mae

The above three are at the epicenter of the stitshorm we are in currently. Keep in mind I am not absolving any Elephants – they have certainly aided and abetted this Mother of ALL Ponzi schemes. But you seem to think it was all milk and honey pre-2000. Oftentimes, just like your deviant worldview, it takes years of percolating before it comes to the surface and negatively affects everything.
