Business managers and investors must always worry about the decisions of politicians. This is inevitable to a certain point. However, the Obama era is now taking it to a dangerous level. One is forced to pay particular attention to the political class because increasingly they too often determine the economic winners and losers—and not the free market. This means that it may be best to embrace a “wait and see” attitude and essentially do nothing in the immediate future. Nobody is going to do much of anything if they believe the rules of the game can arbitrarily change at any moment.
