History painting

This morning, a friend sent me this image of a painting by Jean-Léon Gérôme. Some say that it depicts Napoleon III and Eugenie receiving the Siamese embassy. Recent historical research, however, suggests that it actually depicts the liberal media at an Obama press conference. (Chris Matthews may be third from the front.)

You might be right, Roger. But shouldn’t His Majesty’s arse be bare to receive the adoring kiss?
Another observation: among the group in the background standing near the windows, I recognize Al Sharpton, Bill Ayers, the Rev. Jackson, the Rev. Wright, Bernadine Dorn, fainting women and other Progressives.
This kind of racist humor is precisely why it will be four more years of Obama and his health care program. Most in the U.S. have simply outgrown this insipid silliness. Get a grip and a life.
Mr. “Hugh” Buckingham?
…Oh, never mind.
Racist? Surely you can do better than that?
Well, It’s come to this, The world has become the surreal, where is this generation’s T.S. Elliot?
I just imagined myself arguing that the third figure, is not Chris Matthews but Bill Moyers.
That ones gaudy. I prefer his depiction of a brothel also in the Pompeian manner.
