The General Electric Corporation owns MSNBC. Jeffrey Immelt is its CEO—and he is in deep doo-doo if Barack Obama fails to get cap and trade (tax) and “health care reform” passed in both houses of Congress. I am sure that Immelt has tacitly, if not even explicitly, told the mangers of MSNBC to pull out all the stops to destroy anyone who gets in the way of the Obama juggernaut. GE literally has billions of dollars invested in “green technology” and governmental control of American health care. We can also take it for granted that Immelt will probably be fired before the year is over if Obama’s policies are defeated. This guy has little to lose if MSNBC continues to lose influence and eyeballs. Immelt has much bigger fish to fry.
It seems the media’s lies by omission aren’t doing the job for them any more. Plan B: lies of commission. Just when you think they can’t go any lower, they plumb new depths.
NBC must have found Cronkite’s 60 year old “Ugly American” playbook. They did not consider that when Walter doctored his “News” reels for TV there were no cellphones. Only the word of a bunch of “Bible thumpers” to say his “news” was fabricated. Now it is not so hard to prove the Press makes the film to suit their bigotry. Walter did not know how lucky he was.

One of the reasons I do not watch television or read newsprint or periodicals is because they leave out what does not help the story line. Cutting out parts of a video and editing such of any event will only show what they want you to believe. My grandfather Nat Caldwell won a Pulitzer Prize in 1962 and was a Nieman Fellow.

He told me to believe about one half of what you see on television news and about one tenth of what you read, he also taught me that the real meat of the story is in the first paragraph as a matter of fact as he was driving me to school my job was to read the headlines and just the first paragraph of each story. This was back in the 60′s and early 70′s so now I would say believe almost nothing you read and the same with broadcast television.
I suppose you must ask who, what, when, where, and why when watching television and check for other sources before making your own conclusion.
Roger Kimball lists the mailing addresses of NBC executives to encourage Pajamas readers to write to complain. I doubt that would have any effect. When you contradict a deluded person’s delusions, he takes that as further evidence for them. If you point out to NBC executives that it is disingenuous to have his newsbabe talk about the “racial overtones” of white people taking guns to political rallies while your cameraman crops footage of a black man to show his rifle but not his race, the NBC executive will not take that as evidence of his network’s deceptive coverage. He will take it as more “racial overtones.”
Ask NPR why their report on current racial tension omitted the fact of a black man beaten by SIEU thugs at a rally a couple of weeks ago, and they will conclude that you criticized their reportage because you’re some sort of racist.
If you try telling CNN executives that the Tea Parties this year were a genuinely popular revolt against the vast bailouts of irresponsible borrowers and badly run companies instead of a Fox News publicity stunt, they will marvel at how effectively Fox has brainwashed you. Try telling Nancy Pelosi that the hostility Congressmen faced at public meetings during the August recess is pretty much what a Congress can expect when its approval rating is at its lowest in history, and she will shrug your comment off as “Astroturf.”
Deluded people see all evidence as support for their delusions. They are impervious to logic because they hold their delusions for emotional reasons over which logic has no power. Don’t bother writing to MSNBC. If you do, they will include it as more evidence of the racism they’re so desperate to find that they will hallucinate it if necessary.

Does anyone watch MSNBC? I accidently stopped on it recently at one guy was calling Americans all kinds of bad names. I don’t need that on my TV. As for the man with the gun and them concealing his identity, what difference does it make what his race is? He can legally carry a gun!!! HELLO! That’s right, health insurance is NOT! And as for calling him names, do you know him? He’s seems rather intelligent and up to date on the issues to me.
It isn’t just MSNBC. Other commentators and journalist have begun to make the same insinuations, and it will get much worse and much more blantant the more Obama struggles. It was just during the primary campaign that we were treated to Obama playing the race card masterfully. He kept Hillary off balance for months with the race card, and he completely marginalized Bill Clinton when he tried to help Hillary by portraying him as a racist. He tried it with John McCain, but the card had been played too often against Hillary to be of much value. However, time has passed and as Obama gets in trouble he’ll pull it out. His craziest supporters already have. It so patently false, as with MSNBC, that it won’t get any traction, but the worse Obama does the more his supporters will latch onto it for all they are worth. The difference is that the rest of us have seen this play before and we’re not falling for it again! Its inevitable though…….so get ready. It will get ugly!

Interesting. You seem to think that because one black man once said something, all black people must now be responsible for it. Some of this minority are extremely vocal and militant, and raising this concern (while perhaps not in this news story) should not be dismissed. More at issue here is the fact that these gun wielding citizens, while within their rights, are incredibly stupid and misinformed. Obama is not going to take away anyones frigging guns, even renewing the completely reasonable assault weapons ban is not on his legislative agenda. Bringing machine guns to a town hall meeting serves no purpose other than to create unnecessary attention and provoke irrational debate. Yes, MSNBC is to the left, and yes they do often manipulate clips to reinforce their narrative on certain issues, but FOX does this to, and often much more blatantly such as just the other day cutting out the question Barney Frank was asked by one of his constituents that likened Obama’s health care plan to the Nazis, and only showing his impassioned response to such a bs question, citing it as an example of democrats lashing out against “ordinary americans”. All of this aside, racism still exists, concerns about the president’s safety due some of these racial prejudices are completely legit. If you’ve never been involved with something like it, you cannot imagine the technology, dedication, and commitment and humanity that goes into successfully designing, producing, and deploying an aircraft engine; a high-speed -pressure turbine; a nuclear power plant; a satellite constellation for military communications; medical imaging systems; diesel locomotives; lighting for everyone from football players to surgeons; plastics for the home, hockey rinks, TV dinners, and automobiles; work saving appliances of all manner for the home; and yes, a financial organization able to locate, accumulate, and make available cash in both the small number of immense amounts and the immense number of small amounts that made (and still make) these things possible and available to anyone, anywhere.
I’ve little doubt those folks are still there, but these are hard times for me, and them I’m sure. They, like me, must be sick and disgusted at the way Jeffrey Immelt and NBC Universal are tarnishing the image of such a great company. I work for a government agency, and trust me when I say that it wastes money terribly, is infested with internal politics and empire building, and employs many more people than it should to do the job it does.

It has been my experience that the single group most guilty of racism is the African-American group. Most Caucasians, Asians, Hispanics, and Native Americans are not as racist as most African-Americans. BTW, should I be identifying myself as Caucasian, European-American, Scottish-American, British-American, or what? It seems like we should all consider ourselves as Americans first. In such a system, the government does not replace your doctor, but merely takes the place insurance companies whose motive is to make a profit, the most of effective way of doing so being to deny people coverage. I know we all celebrate unabashed free market capitalism in this country, but does everything have to a for-profit venture in america? why not privatize the post office? the library? the police? Scott, a single payer system would save over a quarter trillion dollars in overhead and paperwork. Only about half the money spent on health care actually goes toward health care, the other half goes to paying of middlemen and insurance agencies, and again single IS NOT the government running hospitals, its the government paying for them. There are still private practices, and private hospitals. Yes the system is not perfect, but it is a hell of a lot better than the system we have right now, and despite the responees i know im going to get from you all, america DOES NOT HAVE THE BEST HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD. I notice that in doing so not ONE of you attempts to challenge the FACT that all of those documents listed below are HIDDEN. So take the list of documents that he is HIDING and give us a point by point explanation why each one is being HIDDEN or alternatively show WHERE that information is AVAILABLE for scrutiny. Only when you have done that can you then throw out your wild accusations of conspiracy nut against anyone.
