All of the theories positing the long-term triumph (economic, political, spiritual, etc.) of Christian systems over Muslim systems ignore the long lessons of history. I can only think of two or three examples (there may be others) where Christians successfully expelled Islam from its dominions: Spain Hungary and Sicily/Southern Italy. In the latter cases Islam’s hold was not as entrenched as it was in Spain, and those expulsions may fall more accurately alongside Islamic setbacks and repulsions such as Charles Martel’s heroics, or Sulieman’s route during Vienna’s first Jihad seige, or Sobiesky’s crushing victory against the Muslims there 150 years later…
Sadly, the record shows that Islam is adept at taking on far superior civilizations and annihilating them. The list is long and includes (among many others) such destroyed wonders as Christian Byzantium, Egypt, Assyria, Hindu India, Zoroastrian Persia, et al. These were not primitive African tribal regions but the First World superpowers and shining lights of their day. Islam attacked, and like the A.I.D.S. virus, deprived these civilizations of their stamina to prevail. Islam is a culture of predation, subjugation, parasitism, victimology, perpetual grievance, hatred, and annihilation.
If history is your guide, then there is little prospect, in my opinion, that the positive creative and industrious aspects of Christian mores wil prevail against the interminable, vicious and retrograde forces of Islam — unless the World joins forces to roll the whole Islamic nightmare back. And I don’t see that happening any time soon.
