Peter Boston writes:
“As “American as mothers and apple pie” is more than a trite expression.”
Just so. I learned in a church committee a fundamental rule of life. Moms rule. Never misunderestimate their influence and tenacity.
I suspect Palin is sending kinds of messages to women—via clothes, gestures, eye movements, etc.—that men cannot even begin to understand. Note, for instance, her businesslike and restrained embrace of McCain. Compare that to Sen Obama’s kiss on the mouth of Mrs. Biden (and on the mouth of his daughter). Very different messages.
What do women commenters, ye few, have to say about the Palin woman-to-woman messages?
