I have suspected LBJ’s complicity in the November ’63 events from the very moment they happened. In regicide, one always looks first to the beneficiary. He had both the motive and, in conjunction with JFK’s first presidential trip into Texas, the means to execute the deed. As subsequent president, LBJ also had the means to control the cover-up. He created the Warren Commission! While not complicit, the members were more than likely dedicated to stability over truth. Do you think that they would/could initiate an investigation of the sitting president?
Listen to both Russell’s direct and Warrens implied reluctance to serve, not as an inconvienience to them, but as being dedicated Americans asked to accomplish a very distasteful but necessary service required to stabilize our county. Why else would they be reluctant to accept such an honor?
