Wretchard had a post a few weeks back about deterrence in war against extremist Islam. It started with a premise that while it may be true that the jihadis cannot be deterred, prehaps the society which produces them can be. I hope this subject comes up in the race. It would be helpful to hear both candidates speak on this. Especially if the dynamics of the race bring both to the same point – a clear and convincing retaliatory threat.
