CPT, don’t let the snarky press lead you astray –Boone is all-American. Yes, he fits the initial glance as a robber baron, but –look deeper. you’ll like what you see. the water gig is, Dallas needs it (will soon anyway), and no one else is making any move to help. But –he has shareholders and investors, and he does plan to make a buck. but –his type makes it all work in the end, far better than waiting for an emergency to bring in the gov’t bureaus. He’s a wiley bidnessman, but his rep is for sterling honesty & keeping his word. Confess, my dad did some geological work for him back in the 70s and 80s and i got to know him a little, just thru visiting mom & dad in Amarillo and tagging along a few times on dad’s projects. first time i met Boone, he asked about my family — i related wife’s name and 3 kids names, where we lived in Victoria — a 5 minute conversation. Saw him again 2 or 3 yrs later, another short converstion –he remembered names and ages of my whole crew, plus everything i’d told him about my own piddly life & career, too. it was as if i was the billionaire world figure, and he was the wet behind the ears faceless pissant oilpatch techie. Impressive dude –more so all the time.
