The whole business about this guy (or these guys) writing to get Obama the head position on the Harvard Law Review seems to me simply loony. Law reviews generally are run by students, which means that they do the selecting and editing along with with contributing the occasional unsigned “Note” or “Commentary.” The people with the say as to what students run the thing are the law professors themselves. Harvard Law professors are very likely never under any circumstances to believe that anyone under the sun has better professional judgment than they.
The matter of Obama being anywhere within shooting distance of the Harvard legal mag was raised some weeks ago on LGF, which led me to do an author search on Obama on “HEIN Online” which is the standard legal internet archive of all U.S. and some foreign law reviews. Searching Obama’s name turned up exactly no articles attributed to him by name. His name appears in a couple of footnotes as someone who gave the author some “good advice,” but that is all.
Come on: he was in charge because he was black, and thus soothed the legal liberals’ de rigueur liberal guilt. He’s being considered for president by the party of his choice for the same reason.
The Obama phenomenon is so ridiculous as to be obscene.
