You make some good points about how McCain needs to remain focused on his policy differences with Obama. In the main, I think that’s the right way to go about it. HOWEVER, it really, really bothers me that Obama has been allowed to get away with hiding who he really is. Since I come from the Left (a long time ago) I harbor some very bad feelings towards the Marxists/Socialists, who I believe are a very dishonest lot of people, overall. It was honesty and earnest searching for the truth, and being open to the other side’s arguments, that turned me. I hate deceitfulness, and I sense a lot of it in Obama. He is allowed to say one thing to various Hard and Soft Left groups, away from the scrutiny of the press, and another kind of language code designed for the Middle Muddle. It just shows one of the qualities about the Left that eventually turned me off.
