The Ego has Landed

I decided to watch ABC News and watch Stephanopoulos and Charles Gibson present the party line.

ABC News is a joke when O is involved. Otherwise the stories were reasonable today.

The ever reliable George S. tried to cast the defeat at the Olympics as a valiant rescue attempt that failed. Adding that the matter wasn’t all that important anyway.

George’s line was that Chicago had zero chance before O intervened. So whatever he did couldn’t have hurt. The WH perhaps didn’t understand IOC politics. Clearly IOC politics doomed our bid.

But suddenly George found the silver lining. If the economy improves and if Obama gets his programs though Congress and if AF goes well and if ……then people won’t be concerned about the Olympics bid in a year or so.

Gee whiz, thanks for pointing that out George. Who would have guessed that if matters improve people will become happier with Obama?

The next story was the big unemployment numbers. Charles Gibson took the helm. The presentation was fair and went thus: Yes, the new unemployment figures were dreadful. But Congress wanted to extend unemployment benefits. But boy, matters sure looked grim for the jobless.

Gibson didn’t mention ACORN.

While I typed this ABC put on O praising his own effort and some reporter saying the award to Rio was already in the bag.

And from Chicago a reporter said the city was heartbroken. Or maybe the city was housebroken, my hearing isn’t that good anymore.

At the moment they are telling us the atomic discussions with Iran are going pretty well although Iran again told them to pound sand today. Don’t be impatient, we are going to be very firm sooner or later.
