Earlier point about the supposed non-uniqueness of the Christian incarnation story (Ceasar descended from Venus). It was common for Roman leaders to invoke divine ancestry, until eventually the emperor was hailed as a god. But there’s a difference. Claiming divine ancestry allowed a pagan to assert a demigod status above and beyond normal humanity (ubermench anyone?). The unique and fundamental claim of the Christian incarnation is that Christ’s human nature is one hundred percent human, no different than you or I.
