I have long argued here, and elsewhere, that one of America’s successes has been in having ways to replace elites without having to kill them. The Civil War was partially an exception as the Southern Aristocracy committed suicide.
Other societies have thrown them out windows (defenestration – great word!), chopped their heads off, starved them to death in camps, etc, etc. We just vote ‘em out of office or take our business elsewhere.
This bunch in office looks like they don’t want to play by the rules of US Constitution of no rough stuff and you get to leave office with your head. If the rules don’t apply to the citizens, they need not apply to the officeholders.
But the pressure is on to replace our elites. Part of that is from outside the country since subversion is the cheapest win and part is due to their own weakness via unrealistic “political correctness.”
Since the thuggery is local (so far), will the local and state police forces become politized? Has anyone had discussions with police leaders and ranks? Aren’t they unionized too?
