Europe’s birthrate is so low, for many nations there will be no recovery. Spanish will vanish from Spain, and Portuguese from Portugal, along with their culture. The same holds true for the Italians and Greeks. Perhaps even the French and British.

This will stop happening when the expectation of social security evaporates. Once the safety net begins to look shaky then the childless will look with envious eyes upon the families with two or more kids.

Unless robotics or biotechnology comes to the rescue what will happen is a) pensions in crisis; and b) a revision in behavior.
