Old_Salt, I see you also caught on to Peters’ column in the NY Post. Posted it earlier here, but I don’t mind if you caught it too. I figure between the two of us posting it, the article will get some attention. Col. Peters often has an interesting insight to share. Generally, though not always, I tend to disagree with his take on Islam (I’m harder on it and I hope someday he reads the Qur’an).

I too have seen across a number of weblogs today people excusing Russia. Whiskey has it right: Whose forces are in whose country invading? The cassus belli was being “worked” for some time. Can’t say I blame the Georgians for losing their patience at this point. They were constantly goaded, prodded, and provoked.
