Hmmm… South Ossetian rebels backed by Russians shell Georgia, killing civilians. Georgia responds by moving troops into it’s own territory to attack rebels. And Russian apologists claim that “Saakashvili has made a reckless mistake”.

Since when is defending sovereignty and killing rebels a “reckless mistake”? Was Lincoln guilty of the “reckless mistake” of fighting the Confederacy? Does the addition of variable Russia to the equation change basic math?
