Jay, Buddy, Dave,
I attend the U for a while in the 60′s. I proposed to my bride, while motoring with her in my red TR-4, top down, headed out of town toward the hills on Highway 2222.
I visited the Pacific War Museum in Fred’burg a few years ago, bound and determined to soak in every exhibit, display and document to the full. Of course I didn’t make it a hunnerd percent (it’s rilly hugh), but I gave it a good try.
The paperback I remember being feverishly passed around 40 years ago was “A Texan Looks at Lyndon”. Maybe I ought to read it someday…I had no interest in politics at the time.
I saw Ruby do his Dallas basement deed live on TV, while the rest of the family was sitting down to Sunday dinner.
I also saw Douglas Edwards break on the 6 o’clock news the Soviet Sputnik Spectacle. But what does that have to do with Texas?
