America’s liberal elite desperately crave the approval of Europe’s elite. It’s a status thing.

And Europe’s elite desperately crave being at the top of the pile they were at pre-WW2 when they were dethroned by America.

They keep thinking if they lay enough guilt trips on Gulliver it will tie him down. No one in the elite camp(s) has noticed that historically guilt trips just make Gulliver cranky enough to throw off all of them and turn over everyone’s canoe, leaving them thrashing in their own self-created tsunami.

It’s sort of fun, actually, watching the Yurpizoids assume too much, and the American progressives yapping around them in hysterical little self-affirming circles.
