Well, it is very simple, really. Clearly y’all have not dealt with the Denizens of D.C. enough to understand the thought processes.

For example, the concept of the “non-paper” is one they use at DoS. The idea is that they can take a document over to someone’s embassy that explains the US position on some subject – but it is a “non-paper” as in the Mission Impossible phrase “…the Secretary will disavow any knowledge.” Just some nut off the street wrote something down and walked in claiming it was the U.S. position, that must be it, sure.

So, for Hamas, they will establish relations and then, if they keep shooting rockets at Israel, then they can take really Harsh Measures and “break off diplomatic relations.” That’ll teach’em!
