What worries me is the drive that so many feel to lift the burden of white guilt off of their shoulders. As programmer alludes to above, several generations have been programmed (sorry, programmer) to believe that whites (white hetero males especially) owe pretty much everyone. Even those that don’t necessarily see obama as a leader or Presidential material seem willing to pull the lever just to get this over with. Yes, this is the time many have been waiting for. To say “hey, enough with the guilt trip; we’ve given you a black President!” (Not that it will assuage the guilt-trippers, of course.)
I can only hope that cjm is correct.
The ramifications to our country, and yes, to the world, will be profoundly negative if this guy gets elected, especially with dem congressional control.
