I agree with the following but take issue with just one word in the first sentence:
BHO to his amazement has discovered that he actually can walk on water. He can get tenure at a law school without publishing; go to the US Senate without ever actually doing anything noteworthy in Chicago; and go from an first term Senate seat to the Presidency of the United States. He can tell heads of state that they will still be dealing with them in ten years. Adam Nagourney? Who the heck is he? Is he someone Obama should know? If that isn’t walking on water, then nothing is.
Replace “amazement” with “satisfaction” and you would be right on the money, Wretchard. Barack believes, and how can you blame him? He has “earned” his positions, and in actual fact, he has.
The problem, however, is that he has earned much of it from a paternalistic structure (the liberal superstructure) that really doesn’t believe in the mental abilities of “colored” people. They just like pretending that they do.
I firmly believe the Clinton’s are going to take this guy down, one way or the other, and probably quite subtly. They are not going to allow this ultimately juvenile crowd of folk to run the Democratic Party. That means a cataclysmic moment is coming for them.
The rise of Barack Obama is that bright-line moment. It has demonstrably proven to many Democrats what they have created. And that means the end of Affirmative Action as we know it and perhaps the end of the modern Democrat Party as we know it.
That’s going to be Barack’s legacy.
