Anything may make a statistically meaningful impact on a result without being determinative. Skepticism can be a healthy approach to many theories and you should not be faulted for it. As the apostle of tolerance Cromwell wrote to the Presbyterians, “I beseech you in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken.” Note, not my faith.
