You’re missing the point entirely. This is an end run on the 2nd amendment. “Look, we’ve established just the type of militia the bill of rights contemplates and only they will be allowed to have personal arms”
Whether they are Democrat or Republican, politicians have now become a permanent class in the capital, existing along with a giant bureaucracy, operating the government for their own sake. Unless that is changed, they will simply continue to increasing until they bankrupt the country.

It's a story that you think may have actually happened in the real world. On the downside, the start is a little stilted and the author doesn't hit his pace until about 30 pages in but this is a quibble.
