Actually, even if the executions aren’t painless, I still don’t expect much Muslim outrage.
So far as I can tell, Muslim outrage doesn’t come from enforcing Islamic laws, but rather from the idea that Muslim states are somehow enforcing American policies. Interestingly, the more outrage there is against the death penalty in western countries, the more legitimacy its use would have in Indonesia.
