#275, Whitehall–Yeah, a 2008 Sense of the Senate Resolution, S. Res. 511, that got some debate and short legal opinions about the definition of “natural born citizen” included in its legislative history that–should the issue ever arise–would probably be beneficial to Obama, and give cover for members of Congress who might want to side with Obama in any dispute on this issue.
Who introduced S. Res. 511? Far left Obama ally Senator Claire McCaskell. Who cosponsored the bill and worked to guarantee its swift passage out of the normally contentious Senate Judiciary Committee, through the Senate without any hearings, and on to a unanimous voice vote (i.e. no individual votes were recorded)–all in the very short space of two weeks? Why, cosponsors far Left Senator Leahy, Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, the usually “no show” Senator Obama–who came off his permanent campaign on the road, and who was, uncharacteristically, very keenly interested in and involved in the passage of this bill–Senator Hillary Clinton, and Republican Senator Coburn–so that it could be termed a “bipartisan bill.
“Thinking ahead,” indeed.
