The trust aspect hit the nail on the head. For me it’s not just the birth certificate, it’s a series of actions which belie his words – he’s consistently misled or lied about many things – or used obfuscatory techniques to explain away some odd aspect or another of his belief structure or decisions. So while the document looks real to me, I don’t trust him enough to believe there isn’t something else he’s hiding. I can’t even bear to listen to him anymore. When I read his speeches, they are illogical/nonsensical – I can’t finish reading them.

Trust is the underpinning of all society – most people are trustworthy. However, as the old adage says: “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
