This is an interesting comparison of the Obama BC and an actual one from Hawaii.

Just take a look at this one point. Look at the Obama BC where it shows the hour of birth. Notice how in the “P.M” the M is considerably dropped down. Now look at the other BC. They are exactly the same, other than in Obama’s the M is pulled a little closer in. Even the little touch of pencil or whatever it is over the M is there in both. Yet other capital M’s in the documents are not dropped down. So it wasn’t a flaw of the typewriter.
