Mike,

I can’t load a quote I was looking for by Napoleon and women and mothers but your point on Americans not having patience for protracted wars I think is very true. However I often wonder why we take wars that our night could dictate the outcome of in three days and turn them into protracted conflicts

Is ther an unwritten rule somewhere that we can’t use tactical nuclear artillery shells or some of the smaller H-bombs? Smaller H-bomb? Oxymoron, however in terrain such as the desert in Gulf I we could have easily used a few and sent a very powerful message.
Are we saving them until we are in a state where it is protracted war forever eating every resource we have in men and material or do we say to Karzai,” Look were going to make the NE tribal areas uninhabitable for 100 year and finish these AQ guys. The winds will by perfect day after tomorrow”…and then do it.

Is there doubt in anyone’s mind that eventually the AQ and other bad guys will get the BOMB and not hesitate to use it on us? I mean is there really anyone out there who believes that for the next 20 years we can sequester the bomb from the bad guys?

In the meantime our forces are being subjected to the Chinese water torture.
