Guys, calm down. I have friends on the left who are better shots than I am (not too difficult, actually). They have been in the military. They didn’t like it particularly, but they served and went on with their lives. They retain their knowledge of infantry tactics and are great at board games that involve strategy and tactics. Some of them are black belts in various martial arts. They are anti-war, but don’t like being pushed around. Some are good hunters, farmers, etc. I think you get my drift. I do not mean this in a derogatory sense, but you do not sound like someone who has been in a shooting war, laying on the ground and cursing the manufacturer of your fatigues for making the buttons so d**n thick. It is not like the movies, even the bad ones. Good guys (and gals) die, or worse are wounded and never are the same ever again. A civil war is worse.
I do not always agree with Cannoneer No. 4, but his 2:34 comment is spot on. The Army belongs to the duly elected government. They have taken an oath, and take that oath seriously. They may leave if they do not agree with the current administration, but while in the military, they will do their duty to uphold the government.
Get out more. Get involved in local politics. Help the party that you believe in build a grass roots organization. Weed out the corrupt elected officials. Work with Boy Scouts, Churches, spread the message. Use that fiery radical rhetoric to become a community example (notice I didn’t say organizer). Fight for the right, but use the ballot, not bullets.
All is not lost. The fat lady has not sung. And even if we lose this one, there will be others, perhaps with better results.
Do not despair. Fight the darkness, push it back. Let in the light.
