well i do not feel that any sort of political ideals should be taught to such young children. If this candidate plans for 8 years as is the norm. then these kids would not even have a chance to vote for him. This is somewhat scary, politics is for adults dragging children into this is dispicable. On another note the bailout marks the end of free market, if a company fails it DESERVES to fail. The market will fix itself

Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit is also saying get off your ass and go to work. Looks like maybe the Pajamas-honcho's are trying to head off a civil war and get us to be civilized and keep on turning the other cheek at progressive bullying.

Damn, I was so looking forward to my first liberal scalp, too.

"The Obama campaign is demanding that the Justice Department bring criminal charges against a non-profit advocacy organization and one of its donors because they have the audacity to sponsor a television ad criticizing the close connection between Obama and unrepentant former terrorist William Ayers. The campaign is also threatening the license of television stations; and is enlisting state law enforcement officials for partisan prosecutions, all for running political ads that Obama claims are misleading and false. These actions should cause every American to ask, can Obama be trusted with the powers of the Justice Department, the Federal Election Commission and the Federal Communications Commission? This is a man who wants to criminally and economically punish opponents for engaging in political speech that is the heart and soul of the First Amendment."

“If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” George Washington

I never called for a third American Revolution to be a violent revolution - but revolt we must - politically - against our second American Revolution - the Socialist American Revolution - and restore our Origional American Revolution - our actual Constitution with its Bill of Rights.

When freedom of speech is taken; and then freedom to defend life is taken, your right to property and to life its self is then on the line if you speak up.

Still, if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves. - Winston Churchill

Quiet, rational, deliberate preparations for worst case scenarios is prudent and right.
Chest beating about anticipating, or even advocating political violence against fellow Americans only plays into our opponents' hands.
It would be a sad irony if transcripts from the Belmont Club were waved around in hearings to grant B. Hussein Obama emergency powers.

Preparations made locally and quietly. Political philosophy discussed publicly and civilly.

Just a few musings:

Those of us who were old enough to follow events in the 1960's and 1970's heard a number of groups using the word "revolution." In the conversations around Yale before the "Parrot's Beak Incursion" into Cambodia of spring 1970, people were keenly aware of the police shooting incident that killed Black Panther Fred Hampton, of numerous bombings around the country, of the take-overs by armed "student radicals" of various university administration offices and the cowardly response of those universities... On any college campus it was commonly believed that Nixon was going to use all that as an excuse to suspend the coming elections, declare martial law, and establish a dictatorship.

The Black Panthers and the Weather Underground and a number of other groups in other countries acted on their revolutionary chantings, and a lot of people were murdered by them. Bill Ayers, let's recall, was one who made it his business to plant bombs that, but for the Grace of God Almighty, did not kill anyone... or at least anyone that we know of. The Puerto Rican terrorists freed by Bill Clinton on the eve of the New York senatorial election that elevated Hillary to the Senate, did in fact kill at least one police officer, and injured several others.

Bill Ayers, the brave and sweet, intimate of the Shining One. It's ironic that such a unapologetically vicious bastard has been made by Chicago's Leftward-scuttling gliterati into a man of wealth, influence, and power, just to spit in the eyes of the people in "fly-over" territory.

So in the 60's and 70's, Bader-Meinhoff Gang, Red Brigades, El Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path), Che Guevara, Symbianese Liberation Front (kidnappers of Pattie Hearst), et cetera - committed a number of terrorist acts in the name of international revolution against Western cultural and political systems all. Their members were characteristically from privileged, upper-middle-class and even aristocratic families, well educated, and accustomed to wealth, travel, education, and material possessions, even servants. Some of these have been studied and described as profoundly sociopathic. Clearly they were as demented and diseased as any Charles Manson or Richard Speck.

Many of the milder "revolutionaries" or "counter-cultural" activists - i.e., freaks who were less bold and less willing to risk the consequences of overt criminal violence - elected to work within the system. You can go back and trace the threads of some, finding their names listed among, for instance, the staff of Democrats working feverishly to bring down the much hated Richard Nixon, serving as "observers" in the New Haven courtrooms where Black Panther Bobby Seale was on trial for first degree murder in the torture/death of police-informant Alex Ramsey, then just a few years later signatory as a principal of the Rose Law Firm to the drafts of the documents that created the fabled BCCI in the over-ripe and largely unregulated banking milieu of the State of Arkansas.

Look at the spitting, contemptuous anti-military, anti-faith, anti-chastity smugness of the adolescents that accompanied Bill & Hillary into the White House (Thank you Mr. Perot!)

Those puerile little turds - yeah, the ones that trashed the White House as a parting gift to their successors - are the current model of a revolutionary. They're the ones who are advancing into the senior ranks of government service, and living very well indeed.

I think each of us who values the rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution need to invest in purchasing and learning to safely operate such weapons as are guaranteed to us, and ammunition sufficient to participate in any and all appropriate activities. Does that make me a revolutionary? I don't think so.

I think we each need to be prepared for weeks at a stretch without municipal services - city water, electricity, law enforcement, rescue, etc. When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1990's, this was the advice of the professional firefighter who began the first night of CERT training when I took that course. Some regions are vulnerable to earthquakes, some to hurricanes, some to tornadoes, some to wildfires, some to civil unrest. In 1999, a work crew from the phone company working in Oakland severed an underground power line, and the ensuing cascade of power-grid failures left the entire city of San Francisco without electricity for 24 hours. Does that make me a revolutionary?

I think it's a wonderful thing for families to learn how to live comfortably in the open, filtering and purifying their drinking water, digging and maintaining proper latrines, learning enough wilderness first aid to be able to dress wounds and resolve broken limbs, treat shock and exposure. Does that make me a revolutionary?

The tides of History wash over continents, overwhelming even the best-prepared and purest patriots. Nazi Germany executed over 20,000 of its own citizens for dissent during the years of WWII. They publicly beheaded them with guillotines.

Don't fool yourself; revolution is not for the faint-hearted.
