Chesler Chronicles

As usual, the Wall Street Journal does better. Their headline reads: “Hamas Attacks Israelis on Eve of Talks.” At least they tell us who the perpetrators are and who their victims are.  According to Charles Levinson, “multiple gunmen” were involved; the “victims” included “two men, ages, 25 and 40, and two women, also ages 25 and 40, one of whom was visibly nine-months pregnant, according to Israeli officials.”

Why do Kershner and Landler consider such facts irrelevant to their piece? Are these facts too hard to find — or are these facts too dangerous because they would begin to humanize the Jewish, “settler” victims?

However, the august WSJ does not name the victims either. For that, I had to turn to the New York Post, which places the terrorist act on its cover with a picture of a fully head-and-face masked Palestinian gunman. The title? “Peace, Hamas Style: Terrorist fiends kill 4 Israelis on the eve of DC talks.” Their reporter, Andy Soltis, begins this way:

“Hamas terrorists yesterday murdered four innocent Israelis, one of them pregnant, in a twisted attempt to derail President Obama’s peace summit in Washington … the soulless thugs sprayed a car on the West Bank with dozens of bullets, leaving behind a gruesome scene on a blood-stained road.”

The Israeli media is filled with the facts which humanize this terrorist act but here, in my home town, I can only find such facts in the New York Post.

The victims were Yitzhak and Tali Imes, who had six children, including a year-and-a-half old infant; and Kochava Even-Haim and Avishai Schindler. One of the members of the Israeli rapid response medical team discovered that his own wife (!) Kochava was one of the victims. Kochava was a “married schoolteacher” who struggled for many years to have a child and finally succeeded. She leaves behind an 8-year-old daughter.

The victims' funeral on September 1, 2010 (Reuters)

The Post also tells us that the terrorists may have videotaped the assault, that Hamas claimed responsibility for this “heroic” operation, and that Hamas also “launched a sickening celebration that drew 3,000 people in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.”

I am purposely remaining silent about the “politics” involved.

My point here is simply this: If American journalists, professors, scholars, and teachers read and trust only the New York Times, they will continue to view “militant Israeli settlers” as more blameworthy than Islamist Palestinian terrorists. This view is confirmed by articles, editorials, and op-eds which appear in their pages almost daily, often two or three in each issue. In edition after edition, this point is made over and over again.

Worse: Those who read the Wall Street Journal and the New York Post are viewed as rabid, right-wing conservatives, racists, “Islamophobes,” non-intellectuals, anti-progressives, anti-feminists, etc., and their views, and the views of the WSJ and the NYP, are easily dismissed — demonized — just as the “militant settlers” have been.

If I want to profile the recent and powerful conference on global anti-Semitism at Yale, in which I participated, if I cannot do so in the New York Times, or better yet, in the Times of London, academics will not take a word I write seriously. They will not even bother to read my words.

Quo vadis, my friends?

  1. The Times is terrified that people will think it’s a Jewish newspaper. That was true during Wolrd War II, when the Times really was owned and run by Jews.
    http://www.jochnowitz.net/Essays/Buried.html
The unwillingness of the Times to give front-page or editorial coverage to the mass murder of Jews in Europe was criminal.
The current editors of the Times are not Jewish, but the fear of being identified as Jewish remains.

But why do we keep talking about a press that is completely controlled by what I call the CHIMERA (the alliance of subversives, elitists, and filo-jihadists) ???
They are nothing, they are just the result of nihilist pseudo-philosophies, ideological brainwashing, colossal ignorance.
    Ignore them.
Do you comment a commie newspaper ? Do you comment a nazi newspaper ? Do you comment the saudi or iranian official newspapers ?

“Let them rot in their sins and in their dangerous ideologies.
      Let’s turn this page.”

My feelings exactly. When you see Maureen Dowd, the Washington Post, and various leftwing talking heads and bloggers invoke George W. Bush to come forward and stand with them in their support of the Ground Zero mosque you know they are desperate. Desperate to enlist at least some of the 71% of Americans who oppose the mosque to agree with them. But these Americans don’t read them, don’t listen to them, and couldn’t care less if the NY Times disappeared.

Phyllis, you are from the old school, as I am too, and the thought of the world without a NY Times is inconceivable. But the world has changed and as Sherab said the ideologies of the left are “dangerous.” By continuing to point out their obvious bias against Israel (or the U.S., for that matter), and their obsequious fawning over Muslims, terrorists or not, you give them power they neither deserve nor should wield.

We (and I include myself here) should stop being ashamed of referring to the NY Post, WSJ, Fox News and anti-jihad bloggers when we speak to our clueless liberal friends. The ones who take such pride in saying, “I only read the NY Times.” If so, we should point out that their knowledge of world events is woefully inadequate and they are a danger to themselves and others.

If the NY Times continuously enrages us then why give it any attention? And if the NY Post supports our positions and gives us information we want to know then we should boost the NY Post. To do anything else, in my opinion, lacks courage.

It’s time to turn the page.

Update: After writing the above, I checked my emails and right at the top was a message from the No Mosque at Ground Zero group. They had forwarded an article from today’s NY Post about more shady dealings by the developers and leaders of the Park51/Cordoba project. The latest has to do with the original owners passing up a higher, much higher, bid from a developer who wanted to build a condo on the site so they could sell it to the mosque builders at a bargain basement price. No explanation given. (Sounds like a Burlington Coat Factory 70% off sale.)

Now, do you think you’ll read about this in the NY Times? Don’t hold your breath.

There is such a parallel between women and JEws. How this is reported is sooooo like how rape and (female)spouse abuse are reported. Even putting this on page 4 is the perfect way to minimize it, If it was totally ignored then we could point to it as obvious neglect. But page 4 shows how they care enough to print it but not as page 1 important news. I actually remember reading a feminist book that mentioned this very kind of thing when “womens issues” are reported. (assuming they are not relegated to the Style section) Living not far from where this occured we were talking about it.One young woman’s told how her parents are afraid for her. Another woman said how she refuses to be afraid and will go where she pleases (not tempting fate of course). She said it reminded her of how women in her university the states were told not to walk the campus at night. She said, “of course that’s not terrorism”. I thought to myself “hmmm kind of is actually” The worst thing is when they stop you from fighting back.Or demonize you for fighting back. Especially when “they” turn out to be “us” and turn against you.

The Old York Times is part of the Globalist agenda for the world. There is no place for Jews, and Christians who espouse morality within the secular humanist New World Order. Therefore, they are a problem, and when murdered by the religion of peace, it is due to their own fault.

Arm yourselves at all times. Make sure when you travel what you need to win is with you. Leave nothing to chance.

  7. 7. Zachary

Excellent, perceptive article. I did not realize how truly vicious the Times story was until you compared it to other articles. They had to throw in at the end that Rabin was assassinated 15 years ago.

the sulzbergers were, are, pretty strange anyway. there was intermarriage with protestants and they wanted to be protestant. in any case, during ww2 and prior to that, there was no reporting of the death camps or even the fact that chase bank had offices in berlin and was doing business with the nazis. besides that, of course, there were wonderful journalists until the obama campaign, and that all vanished. basically, the times is a quasi-governmental organization, and lately, not quasi.

reading the nytimes takes a strong stomach, because they are anti-israel (and those are the jews) and they have plenty of muslim reporters who belong to this muslim organization with rules about what to report, how to report it.

the paper doesn’t see muslims as any kind of threat, and that includes sharia law. they are woven into the same fabric as obama and bloomberg and that mexican billionaire who funds a lot of it, and islamic despots and thugs fill out the rest of the picture.

our power as a citizenry has been greatly diminished. this is new for us. we’re trying to figure out what to do about it. so, far we haven’t come up with anything. i agree we should arm ourselves. sometimes blowing up an aggressor’s head is the answer. it certainly stops an anti-semite from being one.

  9. 9. J.J. Sefton

Meh. Nobody reads the NY Times.

Sadly, it’s open season on Jews (then again, when was it otherwise?).

  10. 10. Ken Besig, Israel

I have been living in the area where Palestinian terrorists carried out these murders for over twenty years. This attack was particularly barbaric in that the terrorists stopped their car and opened fire on the injured Israelis to make sure they were dead.
Let me share another story, almost as horrific, in order to make a point. Just a few months ago Palestinian terrorists ambushed and killed an Israeli Policeman in the same area. One of the Palestinian terrorist attackers in this ambush actually had been involved with Israelis a month earlier. But not the way you might think. His daughter had a tumor in one of her eyes which would require very complicated and quite expensive surgery to correct in order to save her eye and her sight. The Israeli government paid for her surgery to be performed in an Israeli hospital, and Jewish Israeli doctors performed the difficult and complicated surgery gratis. Yet this Palestinian girl’s father had no moral problem or trouble with his conscience only a month later to go out and wantonly murder Israelis.
The moral and really the importance of this story is not that Palestinians and Moslems can’t even be trusted to show gratitude, that is a given.
The moral is that Israeli Jews have remained tolerant, largely peace loving, and generous to the Palestinians in spite of the Palestinians hostile, antagonistic, and some times even murderous attacks on us. Even now, Palestinians can work in my settlement without fear of reprisal or attack. Palestinians can shop, walk or drive in Jewish areas with no fear of being accosted by Jews, indeed, Palestinians can go to any Israeli Emergency Room and receive proper, courteous, and expensive medical treatment from the Jews they so murderously despise.
After all this time and all the Palestinian suicide bombings, shootings, stabbings, firebombs, and rock throwing at us Israelis, that we should still relate to them as positively as we do is the real news.
I am still very careful around them, though, like in the saying, trust in God but still tie up your camel!

    • Bear

Not sure I could be so tolerant…this is beyond absurd…

    • This comment is moving. It shows again, if we need showing, the contrast between the two sides. That’s why the NYT story is such a lie. Its bad reporting. Its the kind of story you write when you havent actually been to the scene of the crime and your just writing down your opinion. For Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton to be more or less openly on the side of Hamas is disgusting and shocking. That the Israeli people are not filled with anger at the world’s internationalist politically correct elite being on the side of people who are sworn to murder every one of them is a reason for hope. Dignity and courage are the correct antidote to anger and lies.

    • Radegunda

Your comments confirm what has seemed obvious to me for a long time. What’s mystifying is that so many people seem unable to see the obvious. One of my theories is that they imagine they show superior understanding by ignoring the obvious and turning it upside down.

  11. 11. LeftWingPharisee

I work for the NY Times, as an IT guy, not in editorial. While I will certainly not defend every single article or editorial, there are things that don’t ever seem to be mentioned:

    1) During the flotilla nonsense, the NYT gave lots of paper and ink (literally) to Israeli spokesmen on the OP-ED page, some of the most valuable real estate in the journalistic world.

    2) They spent big bucks getting out the story that the Turkish ruling party was in direct cahoots with the flotilla leaders. That is very expensive and difficult to do.

    3) They’ve done excellent work exposing Iran’s nuclear program.

    4) There are enough yomikas working here to have a Mincha minyan (myself included).

These are just some recent examples. It would not be hard to find others (as well as others the other way). My point being, if you are going to criticize, fine, just be prepared to praise when good work is published.

    • Andy Gump (formerly Oscar the Grump)

      Dear LWP,
It is not important that the NYT has Jews working for it. The Nazis used Jews too, they were called Kapos. The only reason the NYT employs Jews is that they are important to the bottom line. That’s the only reason!

The NYT should be recycled into toilet paper which is what it deserves. Better yet once editions are printed, they should be sent overseas to Third World Countries where they would employ the paper directly for that purpose.

Have a good day and keep smiling. Most fools do.

While it is important to identify the Times for what it is, it is also important to ask why the Israeli government is so detached from its citizens that it continues with business as usual on the peace process despite the horrendous murders. Isn’t defense minister Barak this very day discussing the sharing of Jerusalem with Palestinian officials even as the Palestinians celebrate in the street the murder of these Jewish civilians. The Jewish ghetto mentality has returned. Keep your head down, placate your enemies and hope that someone else is the victim.

    • unknown jane

Sadly I believe that this is due to pressures both from within and from without. Israel has not been given many signs that the international community would support them (or even, not turn on them) in the event that they took a more proactive stance.

Whatever one’s personal feelings about Israel (for myself, I’ve always been positive/neutral, as it is not my country, so I do not have any emotional investment but can find the value in having Israel as an ally and as the one society in the region which allows some manner of freedom to its citizens), no matter those feelings, they have a right (a duty even) to protect their citizens. It would seem that there are those who do not believe they have even that most basic right — Israel may have to risk acting alone. I hope that it does not come to that, and if it does, then I pray that they are successful in doing that very thing.

The actions of Hamas should make things very clear: the peace talks will come to nothing (or should). These people do not want compromise; concessions to them will only kick the can further down the road. Israel should not bow to suicidal nihilists who are as bent upon their own destruction as upon the Jews — you cannot reason with people like that, and you shouldn’t try (that goes for Western leftists too).

A pregnant mother is murdered and leaders are “rattled”- truly a disgusting analysis of the events. The extent to which the left bends over backwards to rationalize and minimize the actions of Islamic fanatics is incredible. I honestly can’t understand how people can view violent, hate-filled, wife beating maniacs as victims.

    • HRW

#15 Chris Hawkins -Quote:“A pregnant mother is murdered and leaders are “rattled”- truly a disgusting analysis of the events.”
Even more disgusting was Ambassador Michael Oren on Fox & Friends this morning. Oren claimed everything was honky dory with the peace process as cooperation was ‘unprecedented’. These murders, including that of the pregnant woman went completely under his esteemed radar. Spit.

Why this should surprise is unclear. Oren voluntarily re-activated his service , and donned a uniform in order to participate in the bloody forced expulsion of Jewish families brutally torn from their homes, schuls and livelihood in Gaza. Oren continues to demonstrate his support for Israel’s suicide in radio interviews.

If the current band of socialists/communists in DC have their way, there will be no place on earth safe for anyone except muslim men. All socialists/communists have genocide in their play book. God help us all and God bless the families of those murdered, innocent Israelis.

  17. 17. Dr McCosker

Dear Phyllis – frpm the sounds of it, God bless the New York Post for having the guts to call an act of fiendish terrorism, an act of fiendish terrorism. Do write to the ‘Post’ to thank them – and thank the ‘Wall Street Journal’ for what they got right, as well.

I concur with Steve. The farce of the ‘peace process’ and the ‘peace talks’ should end. There is no-one on the other side to negotiate with. Negotiations with the local Arab Muslims, the soi-disant ‘Palestinians’, are perfectly futile, a snare and a delusion (read Robert Spencer’s book ‘The Truth About Muhammad’, pp. 136-139, the discussion of the Treaty of Hudaybiyya, to understand why). Any ‘peace’ will only be a timeout truce-treaty during which the Muslim side will continue to nurse and foment hate amongst its own, and arm itself for war which it will resume the moment it feels strong enough.

Back in 2004 when pregnant Tali Hatuel and her four daughters were murdered by Muslim jihadist assassins in a jihad raid virtually identical to this latest attack, all factions among the ‘Palestinians’ fell over each other – a spectacle of amoral bloodthirstiness horrifying to behold – to claim the ‘kill’. As Arutz Sheva reported – ” Hamas, Yasser Arafat’s Fatah, and the Islamic Jihad claimed joint responsibility for the murderous attack”. (At least the name of the third group puts the truth right out in the open: these atrocities are acts of Jihad, and their motive is found in the central doctrines of Islam, Islam, Islam). And “Arab civilians [sic: more correctly, I would guess, Arab *Muslim* civilians] in several locales under Arafat’s control celebrated in the streets the murder of the Jewish mother and her children”.

One does not negotiate with a psychopathic serial killer whose hands are dripping with blood.

We – Israel on the frontline, as seen in this latest attack, but in fact *all* non-Muslims worldwide – are up against a fanatical death cult, a system of slavery and human sacrifice. These four Jews in Judea, not far from the ancient Jewish sacred places of Hebron, were murdered as human sacrifices on the altar of ‘allah’, just as surely as were the 3000 human beings who were slaughtered on September 11 by devout allahu-akbaring jihadists (and the deaths of the September 11 victims were also obscenely, publicly exulted over by many members of the Ummah, all across the world). I will add that every ‘honor’ murder that takes place within a Muslim ‘family’ is also, de facto, a ritualised human sacrifice.

Today, I will be writing a letter to the Israeli ambassador in my country, to convey my heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Israel. And when I do I will call the attack by its right name: I will call it an Arab Muslim jihad terror raid that murdered four innocent Jewish civilians in Judea.

    • Menachem Ben Yakov

Five were murdered. A woman who was in her ninth month of pregnancy was murdered. Can any human being grasp the barbarity of the dog that came upon her, close enough to see her condition, and then empty an automatic weapon into her?
Please G-d give me the opportunity to avenge her murder.

  18. 18. Sylvie7

. Sherab Zangpo It would be wonderful if Jews could pay no attention to the slant of newspapers because most Jews are upset by the deaths above all else. But the anti Israel and anti Jewish slant of western media does have an effect on us. Written propaganda has caused death to Jewish communities for centuries.

What the haters of Israel couldn’t do on the battlefield, they are doing through guided and well placed lies and propaganda. The press contributes to this and has portrayed Jews and Israel as super villain consistantly for decades.

Muslim President Obama Demanded Removal of Checkpoints on the road where Jewish innocents were murdered without mercy. The purpose of checkpoints is to prevent the terrorist killing of Jewish innocents. The purpose of removing the checkpoints is to facilitate the murders of innocent Jews, including 9 months pregnant Jewish mothers.

Jewish suffering and murders is regarded as irrelevant. Instead of begging Jews for forgiveness for this wicked crime against humanity facilitated by the removal of checkpoints, Muslim President Obama, determined to steal G-D’s Holy Land given exclusively to Jews, is demanding the complete destruction of Israel’s security via a Muslim terror state reducing little Israel at mid-section to 9 miles wide indefensible, Auschwitz borders facilitating the Second Holocaust. Jihad is an obligation in the Koran.

What are all of the terrible threats made to Israel by Washington if Israel does not surrender to totalitarian, colonizing Islam? Demanding that Israel surrender half her country to the global jihad is unforgivable and evil.

(“That’s not a debatable proposition!” Good, that’s how it should be. I don’t want the Jewish claim to the Land of Israel to be the subject of debate. Like the Jewish-Christian religious debates of old, the consequences for losing such a debate would be disastrous.)

  21. 21. Ruvy

Dr. Chesler, why do you waste so much virtual ink on something that is not even worth toilet paper? The New York Times is trash – less than trash. It doesn’t matter what those scum say. It matters what we Jews do. One hopes that the near riot in Hevron this evening by OUR boys was only the beginning. These terrorist scum deserve nothing but hot lead. Dead terrorists – tens or hundreds of them – needs to be the pricetag. The bastards need to learn from being shot at point-blank range that we will not take their garbage anymore.

  22. 22. simeon

Phyllis: don’t you find it interesting and disgusting that our government condemns the evil attacks yet continues to send aid to Gaza? How quickly our citizens “forget” the $400 million aid package to the terrorists just pledged by the administration last June! In light of this horrific evil, we should withdraw every dollar and demand that no further aid be forthcoming until every weapon in the hands of murderous Philistines aka Palestinians be surrendered.

But you and your readers know that won’t happen because there is an agenda. It is the globalist agenda of the elite: the same folks who gave the nations their first couple of world wars and are happily ensuring the next religious one will occur involving Judaism and Christianity against islam and the atheistic left. Then will then usher in (or so they dream) their new one-world religion as the synthesis to end all wars (heard that one before).

And the New York Times is part of that agenda. Decisions are not made by people like “leftwingpharisee,” who are low on the totem pole. They are made by the owners who hire leftist editors to ensure their agenda is promulgated. The owners take their cues from the “charitable” foundations who can make or break their advertising budgets and who can ensure who gets the prize for “journalistic” achievement (which means who helped promote the propaganda the globalists demanded in their latest Bilderburger, CFR or other secret meetings).

Yes, it’s all there if we but follow the money. As I noted to Dr. Ledeen, isn’t it interesting that when one looks at those who are financially supporting the murder mosque imam, we find not only our own tax dollars via the State Department, but the Rockefeller Foundation, Carnegie, etc., and here’s two you’ll love, the Ms. Foundation and the Global Fund for Women give him his bucks: http://asmasociety.org/home/p_support.html

Yet we see no condemnation from these groups regarding the psychotic murder of an unarmed pregnant women by islamic terrorists. Not a peep, despite the fact that it is not just a few who engage in this evil, but an entire community of moslems as the NYT reports at the end of its story that you referred to:

“In the Jabaliya refugee camp in northern Gaza, hundreds of Hamas supporters took to the streets after the evening prayer to celebrate the news of the attack, urged on by the calls of an imam over the loudspeaker even before Hamas had officially said it was behind the killings.”

Yes, very spiritual people who celebrate the death of an unborn baby in its mother’s womb. Hmm. Sounds like the Ms. Foundation, doesn’t it?

They all have the same father, he who was a liar and a murderer from the beginning.

Let us pray that the God of Israel will soon break this spell of evil.

      • Isahiah62

So what is your point? a mocking tshirt is equal to murder of a pregnant woman??

yeah I’m sure in your mind it is

      • “pixie” (how cute): it would help if you read the story and not just look at the pictures (you can read, no?)

“Some of the people who saw it [that's the T-shirts, pixie] told me, ‘Is that what you’ve got to show for the IDF? That it destroys homes?’ I can understand people who look at this from outside and see it that way, but I was in Gaza and they kept emphasizing that the object of the operation was to wreak destruction on the infrastructure, so that the price the Palestinians and the leadership pay will make them realize that it isn’t worth it for them to go on shooting. So that’s the idea of ‘we’re coming to destroy’ in the drawing.”

Or even better. Maybe you should try to put yourself in the shoes of those who keep being massacred by terrorists for just driving a car as opposed to say a retaliation act by the IDF. Now why would the IDF want to retaliate against those peaceful islamic terrorists? Well, if you read the story instead of just looking at the cartoons, you would find the answer “pixie”:

“Sociologist Dr. Orna Sasson-Levy, of Bar-Ilan University, author of ‘Identities in Uniform: Masculinities and Femininities in the Israeli Military,’ said that the phenomenon is ‘part of a radicalization process the entire country is undergoing, and the soldiers are at its forefront. I think that ever since the second intifada there has been a continual shift to the right. The pullout from Gaza and its outcome – the calm that never arrived – led to a further shift rightward.’ ”

Get it? The calm that never arrived. Instead, those loving islamic morons you defend just keep killing unarmed pregnant women; and women and children are not used by the IDF as human shields as your poor little Palestinian “victims” do.

Perhaps you missed the part that Jewish children were gassed not long ago and the evil scum in Gaza scream that they wish to do the same to Jews today.

Well how do you feel about that “pixie” or is it just a one-sided cry for you?

  23. 23. Logan

I stand with Israel, always, no matter what the Jew-hating liars say or do, no matter how many times they apply the double standard, no matter how they flaunt their hypocrisy, no matter how big the lie, I stand with Israel, always!

  24. 24. Dave Surls

There’s only one way to deal with Muslim imperialists/colonialists/terrorists like the Pals.

Kill a bunch…drive the rest off your lands.

    There is no plan B.

  25. 25. Nat Hooper

    Here’s some recent headlines:

“Obama pledges big movement’ on carving up Israel”

“Obama ‘guarantees’ no new Jewish construction”
“Obama pushes new demands on Israel”
“Official: Israel agrees to halt all Jewish construction”
“Obama pushing Israel to carve up Jerusalem?”

This was climaxed by today’s deadly terror attack that killed four people took place on a road where the Israeli government removed staffed anti-terror checkpoints in line with requests from the Obama administration.

Hamas bragged of their responsibility for the cowardly attack, in which gunmen opened fire at point-blank range on a car carrying the four Israeli civilians. They added that today’s shooting was “a link in a chain-series of attacks – some have been executed, and others will follow.”

I’m not a Jew, but I see the nation of Israel as the West’s one hope in that bleak area of the world dominated by Islam. I am an American who is ashamed of my country’s President. He does NOT represent the thinking of the majority of knowledgeable Americans.

  26. 26. cfbleachers

How brave they are, worthy of celebration. What honor and dashing derring do it takes to murder a pregnant woman. Let’s pass out candy at their deaths!

Maybe someone in New York will wish to build a bridge on this date a year from now, to help span the cultural divide between animals that murder innocent women and children and those who merely celebrate the slaughter.

Hamas is too complex to describe. Most soulless creatures are.

The NYTimes, a trembling cur in its own right, buries the victims’ names and the perpetrators’motives…the Gray Shady, a mausoleum for dead and dying journalistic credibility and integrity.

  27. 27. Max Friedman

Phyllis: Dead Jews are not good news. So, let’s move on. Nothing to write about.

Abbass and Hamas can be negotiated with. Yeah, like Hitler over the Sudetenland, the Rhineland, Danzig, Poland, Jews, Gypsies/Roma, homosexuals, mentally retarded, etc.

Jews must defend Jews because literally no one else will do it. They’ll talk about doing it, but when it’s “push comes to shove”, they “shove the Jews away” and leave.

Oh, and about containing Iran. Well, forget it. The meek surrendered and the 12th Caliphate just got nuclear.

  28. Thanks Phyllis for standing up for true victims.

  29. 29. Slade

“Settlers” is a euphemism for land thieves. With the Israeli Army by their side – these wonderful settlers forcibly remove and often murder Palestinian families who’ve been living in their homes and tending their land for centuries. The settlers often take great pleasure in kicking an 89 yr. old Palestinian woman who’s trying to pick up the remnants of their life. Or pouring petrol on the children’s family pets chortling at the anguished screams of the children as they burn these poor innocent animals alive. Yes, these settlers are fine people. We shall miss their mirth and good will immeasurably. You can only push people so far and every one of these settler goons in Eretz Israel should have a bullet in their brains tomorrow. May a justice loving G_D provide it.

    • Gidi

I’m sorry that I couldn’t comment before. I was too busy looking for land to thieve. But I did remove and murder a Palestinian family, although there was no pleasure in kicking the grandmother because she was only 88. Petrol is too expansive here, to pour on the children’s family pets, so I wrapped them in old editions of NYT. I’m too hoarse from screaming to chortle at the anguished screams of the children as I burn these poor innocent animals alive. Yes, my mother thinks that I’m a fine person. This goon in Eretz Israel has already stopped Syrian shrapnel and doesn’t really have a brain that could stop a bullet Peace be with you

    • ahem

Slade: Thank you for so clearly demonstrating the quality of your moral superiority. It demonstrates two things: 1) you have been brainwashed by Leftist propaganda, and 2) this brainwashing has succeeded in turning you into an animal. Neither of these is anything of which to be proud.

Go to the library and read contemporary histories of the region–not the current anti-Israel propaganda. Perhaps it will help you see things more dispassionately. If you are religious, ask God to forgive you.

    • Dave Surls

“…every one of these settler goons in Eretz Israel should have a bullet in their brains tomorrow.”

LOL. Jew-hating western renegades talk a tough game, but you notice they ain’t going for their guns.

      All mouth…no stones.

    • Spot on Slade, although I disagree with you on one point. The settlers shouldn’t be shot; they should be forcibly removed from the West Bank by U.S. troops after America severs all ties with Israel, demands on behalf of its taxpayers to be repaid for the 1.6 trillion dollars it’s dished out to Israel over the last 40 years, confiscates Israel’s illicit nuclear arsenal and arrests the surviving culprits involved in the 1967 attack on the USS Liberty. That’d be a good start.

  30. 30. Joe

What has happened in the media in this country is sickening and, indeed, frightening. Its as though there is an attempt to brain wash the entire country. Don’t buy these rags and do not quote them. Let them alone and they will die a natural death. And Heaven help Israel, Obama certainly won’t.

  31. 31. KosherWarrior

Not complaining about Chesler, it’s just a Leftist-planted meme that needs uprooting:

“West Bank” is, or could be, the name of a financial institute. The geographical region in question is called “Judea and Samaria.”

  32. 32. bvw

I agree with those sentiments already expressed by others — that it is time to forget the old media and move on with our own.

They are ensnared in their own hell, I care no longer to even hear whispers of their misanthropic and sociopathic delusions, no more than I’d care to stick my head into a Manhattan garbage bin on a hot August day.

  33. 33. Fred Capio

Interesting is also the choice of words by the manufacturers of public opinion (CNN. Spiegel, Guardian…..) Israelis always get SHOT, Palestinians always get KILLED.

  34. 34. Menachem Ben Yakov

The speech of Rav A.I.Kook, Chief Rabbi of Israel after the 1929 massacre in Chevron-

” The holy martyrs of Hebron do not need a memorial service. The Jewish people can never forget the holy and pure souls who were slaughtered by murderers and vile thugs. Rather, we must remember and remind the Jewish people not to forget the city of the Patriarchs. The people must know what Hebron means to us.

We have a tradition that “The actions of the fathers are signposts for the children” (Nachmanides, Gen. 12:6). When the weak-hearted spies arrived at Hebron, they were frightened by the fierce nations that lived in the land. But ‘Caleb quieted the people for Moses. He said, ‘We must go forth and occupy the land — we can do it!” (Num. 13:30) Despite this terrible tragedy that took place in Hebron, we announce to the world, “Our strength now is like our strength then.” We will not abandon our holy places and aspirations.

Hebron is the city of our fathers, the city of the Machpeilah cave where our Patriarchs are buried. It is the city of David, the cradle of our sovereign monarchy. Those who discourage the ones trying to rebuild the Jewish community in Hebron with arguments of political expedience; those who scorn and say, ‘What are those wretched Jews doing?’; those who refuse to help build Hebron — they are attacking the very roots of our people. In the future they will need to give account for their actions. If ruffians and hooligans have repaid our kindness with malice, we have only one eternal response: Jewish Hebron will once again be built, in honor and glory!

The inner meaning of Hebron is to draw strength and galvanize ourselves with the power of Netzach Yisrael, Eternal Israel. That proud Jew, Caleb, announced years later, “I am still strong… as my strength was then, so is my strength now” (Joshua 14:11). So too, we announce to all: our strength now is as our strength was then. We shall reestablish Hebron in even greater glory, with peace and security for every Jew. With God’s help, we will merit to see Hebron completely rebuilt, speedily in our days.”

    Amen

Murder would be less common if our media and academia were not so busy excusing murderers belonging to movements they support.

You would think that the world would recoil in horror

I didn’t think so– the world, as we have it now, LOVES DEAD JEWS- the more the better’ WAKE UP DEMBOT AND LEFTY JEWS———-they think you deserve to die too

This peace farce- one in a series- will, like it’s precedents, only make for more dead JEWS- in fact that is the whole idea- Obama needs to get re-elected and this is what the lefty minions and ISLAM apologists and lovers WANT from HIM-

Please contribute to stop the mosque near Ground Zero, an effort by Frontpagemag.com (David Horowitz and Robert Spencer). Ambassador John Bolton and Geert Wilders from the Netherlands will be there in New York September 11 in the demonstration against hateful Islam and the terrorist-lover Iman.

And the most horrible of all horrors is the JPost article today, describing the heart-breaking scene as the medic called first to the scene was found sobbing. His colleagues didn’t know what had happened until he screamed, “It’s my wife! It’s my wife!”

Cold-blooded murderers as partners for peace? Maybe for OhBowMore – not for Israel

  40. 40. Naddy Bumpko

I make no apologies for this statement. Israel should have dropped a bunker buster type of bomb on the assembled mass of 3000 Arabs who were celebrating the murder of these Israeli’s.

    • Considering that such celebrations encourage Palestinians to perpetrate further violence against Israelis, I agree with you.

  41. What’s wrong with describing the victims as “settlers”? That’s what they were. And if settlers occupying Palestinian land in contravention to international law have garnered themselves a bad reputation, it’s because many of them are violent, racist lunatics.

And why, pray tell, should the New York Times have featured this news on page 1? It’s an American newspaper, not an Israeli one.

  42. 42. Hershl

The Muslims seem to have no shame.

They are now demanding that US companies not only accommodate their religious laws but even to pay them for following Islam on company time!! Of course, the majority Christian workers are pissed but they are now being called prejudiced, too.

And the Feds, naturally, agree. The Federal government is suing the company for discrimination against Muslims!!

  43. 43. mrhadler

This was another Moslem HATE CRIME. Yes a hate crime. It’s time that what 9/11 was and the Khobar towers, the bombing in Beirut that took 200 + US lives, the murder of Daniel Pearl, the attack at Fort Hood, it’s nice to say that these murders were inspired by Islmaic radicalism and fascism, but these are hate crimes. Moslem HATE CRIMES. HAMAS is nothing but an Organized Islmaic HATE CRIME. The same for Iran under Ahmadinijad, the same for Hizbullah.

  44. The world did not recoil in horror. Citizens of Gaza, on the other hand, rejoiced. Here are some photos:

All you can do Dr. Chesler is to continue to get the truth out to us. We got your back.
I join with the families and communities of these poor victims in mourning their deaths by these monsters.

The “Jewish Brand” seems to be at low ebb. This ain’t a scientific research, but I sell books online. You can be sure books about Israel, her wars and struggles, or Judaism in general won’t sell, period, at any low price. Holocaust books still sell, but more for the Nazis and the sadism contained in the story.

Some has to do about what I term the “You can’t have your cake and eat it too” attitude of many Jews, especially American Jews. Like Allan Dershowitz, of OJ Simpson fame, an Obamaphile liberal on the one hand who wants a strong Israel and America’s support of it on the other. The baffling (or not so baffling) fact to conservatives that them Jews here voted overwhelmingly for Obama.

  47. 47. Emma

Stephen Hawking is recently in the news for suggesting (if I have this right) that the universe could have originated without the assistance of God. Given his own deplorable condition, I can’t help wondering if he feels he could similarly get by without the assistance of God himself…

    • MiamaMan

      Emma,

      Thanks, allow me to answer.

Stephen Hawkins certainly cuts a pathetic figure. His arrogance is so deep as to provoke compassion.

He uses his crippelness to try to impose on us. For, such a crippled figured must have, as compensation, one must believe and accept, the greatest mind! But the mind, he should know, is finally not an organ of knowledge, and works only on opposites and approximations. His Highness occupied the seat once occupied by Newton, and bla, bla, bla.

More pathetic that his statements, that these new “theories” preclude the existence of God or whatever we call that Unnameable, is the cover that his stupidity have had in the newspapers and media of this crazed and confused world.

  48. 48. pixie

    “pixie” (how cute):

Thank you , i am cute.

    (‘you can read, no?)’

Yes i can read, however you must have word blindness. I never said it’s ok to kill pregnant women.
    All the violence is abhorrent.

‘the object of the operation was to wreak destruction on the infrastructure’

    That’s called collective punishment.
Human Rights Watch found evidence in the 12 cases indicating that Israeli forces carried out the destruction for either punitive or other unlawful reasons, violating the prohibition under international humanitarian law – the laws of war – against deliberately destroying civilian property except when necessary for lawful military reasons.
Such destruction is a grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Conventions of 1949, which is applicable in Gaza.

    we’re coming to destroy’

They were not wearing T-shirts with pictures of infrastructure on.
Surely you are not condoning images of pregnant muslim women as targets?

‘Shock and awe’ did not lead to soldiers wearing similar
    images in Iraq.
    You are making excuses.
The I.D.F should be held to a higher standard.
It’s a professional army in a democratic country.
If you want them to be judged beside a terrorist group so be it.

I.D.F soldiers are reporting war crimes including the use of human sheilds.
    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/middle_east/article5939611.ece

‘is it just a one-sided cry for you?’

No, i am not justifying their action’s.
You, however and posters on this site find it impossible
to hear a different view of events and see everything from Israel’s point of view blindly.

In the sane world, it is possible to critisize Israel’s
actions without agreeing with Islamic terrorists.

    • ahad ha'amoratsim

Pxie, I am not going to defend the T-shirts, but there are several important facts that you are leaving out.

The most important is this: the T-shirts were a stupid prank that contravene Israeli policy and IDF practice and doctrine. No one acted on the basis of the shirts; the shirts were created by IDF recruits to commermorate their completion of basic training. (I have met people who have experienced combat and none of them make stupid macho jokes about it. Green recruits in many armies often do.) Another recruit – an Orthodox Jew, by the way — did not approve and told his officer about the shirts. As soon as the officer heard about it, the IDF had the shirts confiscated and disciplined the recruits.

By contrast, murdering infants and pregnant women is part of the policy and practice of Hamas, Hezbollah and even the ‘moderate’ Fatah, all of whom plan such operations and make heroes out of the murderers. When an Israeli, civilian or military, murders a civilian i n cold blood, the Israeli government prosecutes him. When an Arab murders a civilian in cold blood, the PA makes him a hero.

That says everything there is to say about the matter. A stupid tasteless joke by some immature Israeli recruits (I doubt they’ll feel the same way if they ever shoot a woman, whether in self-defense or by mistake) as opposed to a deliberate and inhumane policy and tactic by the Arabs.

  49. 49. Dave Surls

“Such destruction is a grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Conventions of 1949, which is applicable in Gaza.”

    No it isn’t applicable.

The precious little Pals have never signed onto to the treaty, nor do they observe it, and in those circumstances the Israelis aren’t obligated to follow the treaty.

Of course, in leftoid fantasy world the Israelis have to follow the terms of a treaty that isn’t even applicable, while their enemies can do anything they please. Unfortunately, for Jew-hating lefties, in the real world it works like this: You don’t play by the rules, then we don’t play by the rules.

Always has been that way…always will be that way.

  50. 50. pixie

    Dave,

‘The precious little Pals have never signed onto to the treaty, nor do they observe it’

It is about western value’s not the terrorists.

Just because they dont, doesn’t mean Israel shouldn’t.
    It’s about moral superiority.

The U.S army proudly tries to follow the Geneva convention.
The Iraqi insurgents/Al Qaeda have not signed it.

The apartheid regime in South Africa was judged harshly even though there were other brutal Africa leaders.
This happened because they were supposed to be ‘like us’.

‘in the real world it works like this: You don’t play by the rules, then we don’t play by the rules.’

Therefore you are saying it is acceptable for Hammas to kill settlers?
    Anything goes?

So you agree that Israel has commited war crimes by lowering itself to a terrorist group and wants to be as
    barbaric?
So it is O.K to wipe Gaza off the map?
    Interesting.

Anyway everybody knows Israel doesn’t follow international and humanitarian law, that’s the problem.

  51. 51. Dave Surls

    “It’s about moral superiority.”

    Says you.

I’m not interested in being morally superior to Muslim terrorists or the Pals…just interested in exterminating the terrorists and driving Muslim colonialists and imperialists off Jewish and Christian lands.

  52. 52. markus

the age of colonialism is over. anytime a minority attempts to hold onto a land wherein they are outnumbered, bloodshed will result. israel needs to get the hell out of “judea” and “samaria.” annex the large settlement blocs if you must, and swap them for parts of israel with a large number of arab “citizens. balkanization is the ONLY solution.

  53. 53. pixie

    51. Dave Surls

    ‘Says you.’

    Not just me,the civilized world.Especially following ww2. Nuremberg,remember?

‘just interested in exterminating the terrorists and driving Muslim colonialists and imperialists off Jewish and Christian lands.’

Who are the terrorists. To be gleeful in the collective punishment of fellow human beings ,to de-humanise them makes you no better that he terrorists.
What a lesson to teach your children.

    What religion justify’s your beliefs?

  54. 54. Dave Surls

    “Not just me,the civilized world.Especially following ww2. Nuremberg,remember?”

Sure, I remeber. The civilized world rained death down on Germany and Japan, slaughtering millions of innocent Japanese and German civilians with high explosives, napalm and atomic bombs, then the civilized world had a little powwow at Nuremburg and whacked out a few of the top Nazis for committing various and sundry atrocities.

    What’s your point, exactly?

I know what my point is. Screw with us, fight dirty, and we’ll tear up the rulebook and burn your damned cities to the ground with your wives and kids in them, then we’ll occupy your country and hang some of your leaders just to make sure you get the point…which is what “the civilized world” did in WWII.

I’ll be damned if I understand what your point is.
