The other day, a pediatric nurse in New York City refused to dance with Mbarek Lafrem, a Moroccan man, in a New York City bar. What did Lafrem do? He followed her into the women’s bathroom where he attempted to rape and savagely beat her. The woman was found unconscious and is now hospitalized. She required 50 stitches to close just one of her lacerations; she also suffered a broken eye socket, a broken nose, skull fractures, and a busted jaw.
The media pointedly refrain from telling us that he is a Muslim, but with a name like “Mbarek” or ‘Mubarak,” what religion are we talking about? Lafrem now claims that she started it, that the nurse “berated him when he barged into the women’s restroom shortly after she’d rebuffed him on the dance floor.”
To a certain kind of man, from a certain kind of culture, women are always supposed to say yes, and when they say no they are provokers and deserve a beating. More: If the woman is a naked-faced infidel and dances with strange men in a public setting—she is, by definition, a prostitute and is not entitled to say no. Saying no is a “provocation” and deserves a beating. Or worse.
Now, let’s shuffle off to Buffalo, where Muzzammil ”Mo” Hassan—remember him?–is about to stand trial for beheading his wife, Aasiya Zubair Hassan. Guess what this monster’s claiming? That he’s the victim, that he was a “battered husband.” Guess what this crafty self-promoter has been doing from his jail cell? Writing letters to the media in his mother’s name in which he paints himself as the “abused” spouse. Mo’s letters also refer to an “epidemic” of battered men.
Thank God for journalist Sandra Tan of the Buffalo News who, today, reveals the extent of Mo’s depravity. According to a 21-page statement that Aasiya wrote to the court, she “painstakingly chronicled her years of torment.” In addition to numerous beatings and threats, Mo “made (Aasiya) sign memos authorizing him to punish her if she talked with the police and Child Protective Services and threatened her with the loss of her children whenever she tried to break free.” In truth, Mo used his size and weight against the much smaller Aasiya; on separate occasions he literally sat on her, imprisoned her, punched her repeatedly, drawing blood, dragged her down the driveway, tried to run her off the road in his car, and refused to allow her to seek medical treatment for her injuries.
In addition, Mo wrote emails to Aasiya’s court appointed psychologist in Aasiya’s name and from her computer account. As Aasiya, he denies being battered. “What nonsense. Complete hogwash. I have always been a strong woman and a high achiever.” Mo also drafted letters as if the psychologist had written them which he states that “Aasiya does not have the personality of an abused wife.”
Mo’s attorney, Frank M. Bogulski, has claimed in open court that his client was a “battered spouse,” and he promised a “revolutionary defense.”

You are absolutely correct, it is all over us, particularly on college campus where brain dead student are being indoctrinated by Islamic professors. Organizations such as CAIR and others are taking every advantage our constitution offers to further their cause and deconstruct our American system of government and with the not so subtle Muslim lover in the WH it’s not going to take much to turn our country over. We have to fight back, push back, every time and every place the Muslims try to offend our country. Better still would be to simply cut off all Muslim immigration from any Muslim country to the United States. Any Muslim caught in the U.S. without proper identification would be considered an enemy combatant and sent to GITMO. Muslims accused and convicted of acts of terrorism, treachery or traitorous activity would be executed. The country has to wake up to the fact that there no moderate Muslims. None.
Those accused of crimes, and their lawyers, are always likely to point fingers elsewhere. Let’s hope that our legal system will find guilty people guilty. At the same time, we have to respect our tradition of innocence until proven guilty.
Would one want immigration laws that exclude people like Nonie Darwish from coming to America? Laws should be drafted so that they shouldn’t have unwanted side effects.

When I was living in the Middle East conducting research on dishonor killings, I grew accustomed to weak, if any, reporting about these crimes and their adjudication. The perpetrator and the victim were never named. There were few status reports about any criminal investigations. The victim received no proper obituary, let alone a respectful burial. It made me yearn for my own country’s free press and judicial system.
Well, now that I am home, I’ve noticed that political correctness and fear of violent consequences are stifling professional reporting of the kinds of crimes you’ve just written about, Phyllis. Most of us reading this know that Aasiya’s beheading was a dishonor killing, yet few in the media will call it that (or even bother to report it). And, with the exception of Marcia at NOW’s New York chapter, who was practically skewered for saying so, I’ve not heard representatives of any of the leading women’s rights organizations call these crimes what they are and firmly denounce them.
Good God, what have we turned into? A nation of pansies? If a person’s head has been violently separated from the body because of someone’s delicate sense of honor, why can’t we call it what it is? Why are we letting the bada$$es gain the upper hand? It only takes a few to ruin it for the many.

The real infamy is that the court permitted the jury to consider provocation as a defense to a brutal and nearly deadly beating. What was the judge thinking about. First, there is no evidence to support the theory: if a woman rejects as this woman did a man’s sexual advances, her conduct, as a matter of law, does not constitute harassment.
Then finally, even if for the sake of argument she did harass him her harassment is not a defense, as a matter of law, to a savage beating.

I’m very disappointed in you, Doc. All cultures are unique and equally valuable and yet you seem to be saying that a culture that promotes the abuse of women is not equal to a culture that does not. Obviously you need some re-education.
Nor should you blame the western media for what you see as timorousness. Covering actual Muslim actions fully might cause the Muslims to feel offended and emanations from the penumbra of the First Amendment guarantee the right of certain, select groups to be free of being offended.
And when the guy barged into the women’s rest room she berated him for, well, being a man barging into the women’s rest room. What else could you expect him to do other than savagely beat her within an inch of her life? That’s his unique and valuable culture.

Sorry I was so ad feminam in what I just posted; I do not want to break the clearly stated rules of websites that I comment upon. But I did feel quite provoked by the constant ad hominem attacks of the person I mentioned upon Obama (by her, the Prez is a Muslim who supports Muslim terrorism). Notice that before their “sudden” violent outbursts, these were all “upstanding” men of their community, including a presumably respected Professor (who is teaching impressionable students, no less). These aren’t radicals living in a hole in Afghanistan. These are the “Moderate Muslims”. That doesn’t bring much confidence to the idea that we can all just live peacefully together.

Julia, my wife and daughters have all recounted similar experiences on public transportation. All choose to stare them down. My eldest daughter, who has a military background, also sports a rather lovely (and usually exposed) tattoo which reads “American Infidel”. She likes to “flash” her tattoo. Hers are hilarious – and on occasion harrowing – experiences. Suffice to say that your garden-variety Muslim may be a “bully” but he is also a “coward”. It amazes me that being “offensive” has now become a crime in our once free society. The illogic is hideously astounding:
- It assumes to know (by telepathy?) the feelings of those ostensibly being offended, i.e. they are not somehow misrepresenting themselves.
- It makes a supposed attack on internal feelings equivalent to a physical external attack.
- It assumes that internal feelings are not any kind of personal responsibility of the person having such feelings.
- It invokes prior restraint, in which some act is assumed without proof to cause a later illegal act.
We thus have an unholy alliance of two separate factors, progressive jurisprudence deliberately unable to confront Islamic jihad. Concerning at least the latter, there must be policies we can fight for, that will start to turn the tide. As a first step, we should stop all immigration by Muslims. What would you recommend as to further specific policies?
I would like to know what we can do as well. We need practical, realistic tactics to protect ourselves. In this small town there are women who won’t go to the post office on Saturdays because that is where and when muslim men (that is with the teeniest, tiniest “m” by the way) hang out and stare us down. I have to go there daily for work. Fortunatley it is early in the a.m. so less to deal with but I still run into them occasionally. I refuse to be intimidated.
A while back a somali woman was murdered here by a somali man who apparently had some kind of interest in her but she refused him. Very little coverage and not one mention that it was most likely an honor killing. Until the MSM gets on board and starts telling the truth we have a hard battle ahead of us.

I believe it bespeaks of the absurdity we are living for a simple reason. People do not want to believe that the bottom line to all of this is spiritual warfare. This is why we are also seeing such a rise in antisemitism throughout the world and a crazed hatred of all that Israel represents. If we don’t start realizing that the only way to combat this evil is not with more guns, bombs and planes but with prayer, we will surely lose this war against islam. For historical proof of this, research how prayer was necessary to win the Battle of Lepanto or the siege of Vienna in 1456. Since then, we, in the West, have become spiritual wimps.
Simeon, prayer didn’t save the inhabitants of Constantinople in 1453 or Famagusta in 1570 from being butchered at will by Muslim savages. You can’t live on prayers alone when faced with those who seek to murder and oppress you. You need weapons and the will to fight back and win, and the determination to tell the truth without regard to the feelings of the enemy. Vienna was saved by brave men and women using the weaponry of the day in 1529 and 1683. Likewise at Lepanto in 1571, cannon and musket decided that sea battle. Malta in 1565. The list goes on. We were on the defensive for almost 1,000 years between 711 and 1683. Evil can only be combatted by fighting it at every level. And lets not forget what edmund Burke said “All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing”, and prayer alone without action is effectively doing nothing.
The decision the police made to tell the reporters to leave was based on the realities of crowd control, in my opinion. That is, the police may have known that the crowd favored the bullies, and it could be dangerous to escalate.
If a city decides it is going to take a hard line with threats from crowds who will support assaults of opponents or reporters, then it will have to devote the money to pay for the police officers required to confront the crowd. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think event sponsors normally pay for police security and the number of police depends on the size of the expected (well-behaved) crowd. If it’s actually the city that pays, again it would be the size of a well-behaved crowd that would determine the number of police.
Citizens are going to have to take the lead with the First Amendment. Then the mayor, the city council, and finally the police chief will follow. But you cannot expect a couple of police officers who are at the mercy of the political tides to risk their careers unless the town they serve will support them.

You also talk about only the human element in the Lepanto battle, but fail to acknowledge the strong wind that subjugated most of the moslem fleet which had outnumbered the Christians. In fact, in Venice, many paintings depict the miraculous intervention of Heaven in saving the day. Even the moslems believed that God had favored the Christians. And why? Have you studied the personal prayerful actions of the victors involved? You also fail to point out that the people of Constantinople refused to be allied with Rome in 1453 despite the emperor having secured a treaty to help the Byzantines in their fight against islam. Their saying at the time was “better the sultan’s turban than the pope’s tiara.” The Lord gave them what they wanted.
