You…don’t know what feminism is. Any of you.

Feminism is the philosophy which says a woman is equal to a man, and has the right to do everything he can do.

Which includes choosing not to do the same things. Housewives are not inherently anti-feminist unless they are forced/pressured into the role. Likewise, headscarves, niqabs, chadors and burqas are only anti-feminist in those places where they are forced on people. In the west, they are not anti-feminist, since most western girls have the choice whethor or not to wear them.

Equating the burqa to oppresion is like equation cotton-picking to slavery. It’s missing the point, and it’s confusing a symbol with the whole of the issue.

I’m curious. Does Wolf, at any time, EVER address these questions? From what I’ve seen of her various responses, I can’t see that her position makes any sense whatsoever, from ANY point of view, Left, Right, or Behind the Bleachers in Left Field.
