Imani then counsels cultural Muslims to choose, because they cannot “have it both ways.”
“Dear Cultural Muslim… you can’t enjoy the fruits of liberty and at the same time hedge your bet that by being somewhat of a Muslim you are staying in the good graces of Allah. Allah is very non-forgiving of even the least disobedience, Muhammad preaches. You need to make a clean break with Islam… Don’t help the Islamists in their effort to make hell out of this world hoping to find admittance into Allah’s purported paradise.”
I wonder who will heed Imani’s plea? I challenge my religious Muslim readers to explain how they can remain Muslims in an era in which jihadists are defining what Islam is.
Roughly three centuries ago, Christians stopped esecuting witches, despite the fact that Exodus 22:18 commands us to do so. Roughly 17 centuries ago, the Talmud introduced laws of evidence making it impossible to execute witches, adulterers, and gluttons, in effect nullifying Biblical commandments. I don’t know what would work nowadays as far as Sharia is concerned, but I wonder whether making “a clean break with Islam” is the way to go about it. It is the most honest way, and in general, honsety is the best policy. On the other hand, Christianity and Judaism turned into very different religions without realizing that this was happening.
I don’t have high hopes for England, but between this, and the outrage over the radical Muslims who jeered returning British soldiers, maybe there is a change coming. I am pessimistic.
The notion of “moderate moslems” denies the reality as does the misnomer “radical moslems”. The facts are the only radical moslems are those who refute Islam in all its manifestations. Islam by definition is based on jihad, conquest of the infidel through conversions brought into place by the sword, and enslavement or dhimmitude for non-Moslems who survive the onslaught.
The media, the press, the do-gooders, as do Socialist, sycophant governments misrepresents and mislead the public through the use of misnomers. One quickly coming to mind is the reference “radical muslims” as though Islam terrorists, those States sponsoring them are marginal! Are a corruption of Islam! In fact, quite the opposite is true.
The incitement against Jews, Christians – pt. of fact all non-Moslems is called for in Islamic ideology to which all good moslems must adhere as such to the letter! “Radicalism” – “militant islam” is hardly the fluke or aberration such misnomers and disinformation leads people to believe. Jihad is the mainstay of Islam and as such enforces its dictate of holy war against infidels on every adherent of Islam. Punishing severely those who diverge from its path!
The only radicals and as such few and far between are those risking life and limb in any refuting of Islamic dictat! Further – since one of the dictates of Islam is to always fool the infidel, use whatever means it takes to infiltrate, indoctrinate, subjugate to Islam’s will – to overtake non-Moslem lands and never to speak truth to a non-Moslem – it bears keeping in mind when engaging in discourse with Moslems there may very well be an agenda other than the one represented.
Its truly a minefield out there – and negotiating it takes knowledge, intelligence, independent thinking, and awareness of the ways of an enemy that hides, obfuscates, circumvents the truth using democracy infiltrating all its infrastructure to destroy them.
All dialectic in regards to Islam must be exactly and properly informed as to the facts without which we become complicit in our own destruction.

I could not have stated it any better than you have. However, I’m afraid that the policy elites in Europe and in my country are quite ignorant of Islamic scripture (Qur’an), traditions (ahadith), and the life and deeds of Muhammad (Sira). They don’t know about taqiyya. Honey is being poured into their ears. This enemy knows the weaknesses of our leaders: pride, intellectual sloth, and greed.
I am thinking repeal the first amendment and declare war on any religious leader on earth who thinks they can declare death sentences. No more tax free status in the USA, Laws against preaching death to ethnic groups, Jews etc…anything else?

We are talking about a religion of 1 billion people whose faith is still stuck in roughly the 7th century. It is also a rigid code of conduct and behavior that influences daily life. It never had a Reformation or Enlightenment and as Western civilzation climbed out of the Dark Ages, Islam stagnated. How then, when even its “mainstream” leaders preach the Koranic version of the rapture, will it ever make the great leap forward and abandon its violent, nihilism?

Ten years ago I used to think in exactly the same terms you’ve expressed, viz., that Islam needed to undergo its own Reformation. Then, after I immersed myself in Islamic writings, especially the Qur’an, I cam away with the impression that when you strip away all of the retrograde stuff, which is about 95% of it, there is almost nothing left. At is CORE it is so unlike Christianity. Most of Christianity is utterly unlike Islam. The “Reformation” merely was a revolt against the Catholic Church and its teaching authority. Luther and those after him then wanted to get back to scripture, which was not without its own problems too. Pre-Reformation Christianity was nothing like Islam.
Unfortunately, this is a meme that has taken root in the West. More self flagellation, which fits in very nicely with what the cultural Marxists have been doing for fifty years.
Sooner or later we’ll have to admit that we’ve been fooled: Islam is not a religion, it’s a political system. Once we understand that, then it’ll be a lot easier to manage Islam in our midst.

I’m generally most impressed with Phyllis Chesler and always very much enjoy reading her articles. Once again she is making excellent sense and many excellent points here.
There’s just one small but utterly crucial difference of opinion between us on this occasion, however; In her very last sentence she says “I challenge my religious Muslim readers to explain how they can remain Muslims in an era in which jihadists are defining what Islam is”. Perhaps it’ll come as a surprise to many who believe themselves to be Muslims as much as everyone else but Jihad and Islam are inseparable and indivisible! You cannot have one without the other! And by “jihad” I don’t mean some theoretical inner struggle or whatnot – I’m talking about an affront and attack (whether covertly through stealth or all-out violent assault) on all “non-believers” for all time until there are none left! This is a very serious problem and one that should never be ignored or overlooked.
When it comes to Jihad there are essentially three sorts of Muslim;
Those who actively and openly participate in full-on Jihad in all its forms.
Those who pretend not to know anything about it, or pretend not to participate or support it or even selectively misquote the Quran in an attempt to pretend it is even forbidden by Islam (when the exact opposite is, and always has been true – it is required and mandated). There are many Arabic words and terms for this sort of lying and deception (Arabic is my native tongue so I should know). “al-Taqiyya” is a well know one.
Those who genuinely are innocent and either know nothing about what’s going on and wouldn’t condone or support it if they did. I can assure you these people are not “true” Muslims and are not actively practicing the unchanging “faith” handed down to them over the centuries that is in reality a death-cult of extreme violence and hate.
Incidentally if you’ve ever wondered why Muslim women don’t do all in their power to prevent their children from murdering people and dying in the process here’s an interesting movie clip that might enlighten you; they really believe that there is nothing worth living for and only in death (when they go to a fantasy brothel in the sky they call “Paradise”) will they start to enjoy themselves. There’s even something for the mothers – if you watch to the end of the clip you’ll be amazed to find they dream of presiding over their son’s “black-eyed” virgins whom the mothers can treat as servants or slaves! What extraordinarily deluded and twisted people!?

Here’s an idea for the US: how about a constitutional amendment stating:
“Religious beliefs being a matter for individual conscience and not subject to coercion, the right to leave a religion is absolute and shall not be infringed. Any religious group that enacts threatened or actual sanctions against members if they express a wish to leave the group shall lose its constitutional First Amendment protections, and be considered not a religion, but a criminal organization.”
The great thing about this idea is that it would only affect Islam and a few extremist cults, like Scientology. Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism would be completely unaffected. To those who say “that’s unfair”, I would say, “No, it’s not. It only formalizes legally what has already been understood in America since the founding of the Republic, and Islam threatens to undermine.”
Another benefit is that the automatic re-designation as a criminal organization would allow legal prosecutions of Islamic organizations under the existing RICO statute. No more American Muslims funneling money to Hamas and Hezbollah.
