there is no such a thing as moderate religion period. and fundamentalist christianity is just as dangerous as fundamentalist islam, only it wants to impose christian law. we are used to it so it does not seem puritanical but if we look at history we can know how puritanical can christianity be. we do not convert muslims to christiantiy, we convert everyone to atheism. i am an atheist and i will not convert even if i have to fight

I can’t agree completely. There was the very famous Sheik Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani (he died 1999) in the islamic world who gave out a fatwa against bomb attacks and against contemporary islamic djihad because those actions are an infringement against Islam.

Why?

Because only the “commander of all muslim believers”, the “Kalif”, is entitled to declare djihad against non-believing countries. Sheik al Albani also told, that it is forbidden for a muslim to live in a country occupied by non-muslims, like the westbank and gazastripe and he asked the palestinians to leave these areas. Furthermore he asked the other arab states to absorb the palestinians as their own citizens.

1924 the discharged Sultan of the Turkish Empire abandoned the title Kalif and since then there is no Kalif in the muslim world. This is the reason why Sadam Hussein tried to become Kalif in order to unite the muslim world in a lawful djihad against the west.

And that’s the problem in a nutshell. While peaceful Muslims exist, there is no peaceful sect with widespread acceptance. The Ahmadiyya sect (mostly in Pakistan) is constantly persecuted for heresy because the don’t ascribe to jihad and other coercion to spread Islam.
