That claim has already been debunked. As to "You shall not suffer a witch to live," consider the possibility that such a person was not calling on Powers but on poisons.

Sarah Palin is a creationist, which means she believes in a literal reading of the Bible. Taking the Bible absolutely literally cannot be good for women. After all, the Bible does not mention that any daughters were born to Adam and Eve—they were not important enough to talk about. Chapter 5 of the Book of Numbers describes a crude test to see whether a woman has committed adultery, but nothing is said about men who might have done the same. Exodus 22:18 reads, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live," a verse that led to the cruel, unjustified deaths of many women and some men (a man was pressed to death in Salem, Massachusetts). If we believe in women's rights, we have to believe in science.
