"...this Rahm Emmanuel, who apparently is a very scarey guy, fought with the IDF during Gulf War I."

So what? Rahm Emmanuel may mean well---but he also worked with the Clinton administration that got lots of Jews murdered! Good intentions are simply not enough. Emmanuel associates with countless individuals whose policies concerning the Israeli/Palestinian situation unwittingly backfired and cause far more damage than good. Can somebody possibly explain to me why Bill clinton remains popular with so many American Jews? This simply does not make a bit of sense. By all rights, they should be enraged at Clinton's naive efforts in the Middle East. What am I missing?

A hopeful note in the gloom: this Rahm Emmanuel, who apparently is a very scarey guy, fought with the IDF during Gulf War I.

Also, some believe that as Chief of Staff, he will control some of the wilder excesses planned by Pelosi and Reid.

The irony is that more non-Jews than Jews may see this film. Most Jews indulge in self-hatred. There are vastly more Evangelical Christians like Sarah Palin who believe in the goodness of Israel than Jews. I will order a copy as soon it is available.

Seems like it will be an interesting film, however it is quite disappointing Benny Morris is invovled in this movie, he is a fabricator. Why don't you have the best historian involved? Efraim Karsh, who incidently demolishes Benny Morris's claims.

The fact that most Jewish Americans voted for Obama angers me (I have some inlaws of that persuasion...)

Iran knows that it can dump a nuclear bomb on Israel with nothing but a pro forma bluster from President Obama.

When that happens, am I allowed a bit of schadenfreude at the next family gathering?

Phyllis
Though I weill probably never be able to see this film, thanks for your review and your account of going to see it through all the security. Thanks too for calling attention to how important it is, right at the start of "the new regime" of Barak Obama, to keep our sights on the real issues in Israel and elsewhere in the world.

As Charles Krauthammer said on FOX last night, Obama went through a major shift in policy once the contest with Hilary Clinton was over and he began to run against John McCain. It seems that Obama has a real knack for saying what people want to hear at the right moment. Though his words sound sweet and charming, is there any substance behind them--and behind the man? We can only home that he comes through in all the Big Issues he must confront even before the next 71 days are over, that is, that he sets an agenda that viable, honorable, and just--and not merely filled with post-modernist claptrap.

You are right, Phyllis, to remind us about women's rights, Israel's importance, and the safety of our children and grandchildren in a world saturated with terrorism.
