What she did was specifically accuse Mr. Malfouz of funding terror groups, attempting to destroy him with information that is not based on truth but presupposed unverifiable information. Thus it's libel, Truth should welcome scrutiny. She chose not fight, and since she has made seriously ugly charges against him she should should have been able to cite the sources for accusations. The onus rightly should be on her to prove the facts, not he, in defence of himself have to prove a negative. This goes against the foundation of our democracy. Her freedom of speech should be extended up to the point where someone, anyone else's good reputation isn't being attacked by lies. Her lawsuit seeks to deny Mr. Malfous of his right to dispute her claim and restore his reputation. What if you were Mr. Moulfouz? What is represented in this article is manipulation of the facts, as is her book. She is not some poverty stricken woman. She is the head of American Center for Democracy, and another organization NCAC is trying to pass laws so they she can write what ever she wants about anyone and not be held accountable. Of course, these liberties really don't extend to canada, where if you write something that is an affront to them you might be arrested, lose your citizenship, and have to find another country to take you in - if you deviate from the state sponsored opinions or question them. These organizations are actually lobbies with nice sounding names pushing unamerican values which further the agenda of another country. I am an American, and my only dog in this fight is our Constitution and Democratic values that have been undermined. Take a look at the names of the other authors listed here, and what they write and what they stand for and you will know who this author is. I really have a problem with labeling people as good or bad entities, especially half the population of the world. The title of her book casts fear and incites racism.
