I Think General Pace is Taking His Name too Seriously

Sure they’ve done some good things, and I’ve supported those efforts.

But the MAIN thing is Tehran’s Manhattan Project.

ALL else pales into insignificance before this existential threat to cities, communities and nations.

In war, it’s important to grasp what is the DECISIVE strategic objective.

Iran’s Manhattan Program, along with the continuance of that regime IS THE ISSUE of paramount importance in this war, and for understanding this war.

You can’t understand events in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and the West Bank WITHOUT understanding what is going on in Tehran.

Solve the Tehran problem, all else becomes easier to manage, if not completely solve.

FAIL to eradicate the Iranian regime, EVERYTHING ELSE heretofore that’s been accomplished will be undone by them, under a wave of violence, blood, propaganda and satanic hate.

Take the high ground! And on this battlefield, that’s Tehran.

My gut instinct is now leading my conclusions of the Bush administration. I’m sensing weakness, drift, indecision, fear and pusillanimousness.

These are weak, well-meaning men who are looking for the measured response, the calibrated response, the ever so closely calculated response. And their attempts at moderation are taking this great nation, the last, best hope of man on earth, down a highway towards hellfire.

You’re sensing that weakness too, and are hoping that they will rouse themselves at this late hour.

If they haven’t taken on the Iranians by now, with all they’ve known, AND had reason to know, they’re not about to do so now.

I think that Bush has decided to kick this can down the road. Amazing isn’t it. This is the guy that blasted the previous administration for dodging momentous decisions and now he’s dodging just like Slick Willy.

I’m pretty confident that your instincts aren’t leading you astray on this administration either.

You’re sensing what I’m sensing.

And what the Iranians are sensing too.

Recently Bush made a comment that American men under his command will be allowed to defend themselves against Iranians inside Iraq. He made like that was some vast and weighty decision.

Most American men wouldn’t have spent a moments thought on whether their fellow Americans could obliterate Iranians inside Iraq. It’s a matter of simple common sense. But for Bush, for his staff, for Rice, God only knows the number of interoffice memos exchanged on the subject.

Remember those J.R. Ewing for President posters, from the old DALLAS show. J.R. had a cat like, knowing smile on his face, underneath his stetson. Remember that poster.

I wish I had one of those posters now. Somehow I don’t think that J.R. Ewing would have allowed himself to be so played by his enemies, by our enemies, as our Texan President and his staff have allowed themselves to be played by the Iranians.
